WHAT IS WESTPOINT? Westpoint is family festival for churches from across the UK and further afield to gather together for worship, teaching and lots of fun. Though run by Commission, Westpoint is for everyone. Last year thousands of people from all walks of life came together at the Westpoint Arena in Devon to encounter God and enjoy friendship. In 2015, thousands will gather again, make sure you don t miss out. MY DEAR FRIENDS Westpoint 2014 was a wonderful event with so many lives touched and people challenged and equipped. At Westpoint 2015 we want to build on this, looking particularly at God s glorious church. We see the early church turning its pagan world upside down with powerful gospel proclamation and Holy Spirit demonstrations. They built outposts of heaven, cities on hills, which shone brightly despite the darkest persecutions; so relevant for this groaning world we are trying to serve today. I have invited David Smith to speak, he is the leader of Kingsgate Church in Peterborough which has been a blessing in that great city and is winning many to Christ. At Westpoint 2015 we will also give more time for corporate worship, praying and hoping for fresh Pentecost outpourings from heaven. Let s gather with faith and expectation and encourage our friends and families to join us in this great adventure together. Guy Miller
SPEAKERS This year s speakers include: Guy Miller Guy leads Commission which is made up of over 50 churches in the UK, along with a number in India, Spain and Portugal. With a passion for mission and the local church, Guy will challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and explore the mission God has for you, be that on your doorstep or on the other side of the world. Dave Smith Starting with just nine people, Dave and his wife Karen have seen Kingsgate Church in Peterborough grow into a church of around 1500 with far-reaching influence in the city and beyond. With a passion for building community and reaching the lost, Dave is an excellent communicator with a powerful message. FESTIVAL What better way to end the school holidays than at a fun-filled festival for all the family? Right at the heart of the Westpoint site is the Festival zone. Whether you re up for a bit of comedy, want to try your hand at cooking, fancy an afternoon massage, or want to learn to street dance, the Festival zone will be the place to be. With the new pony ride area, along with tried and tested inflatables, the Festival really is at the heart of the fun at Westpoint. ADULTS Main Meetings Mornings and evenings are times for everyone to gather together - to worship God and hear teaching from His word. For those who prefer a more relaxed setting, all the main meetings are streamed live into the Plaza where you can watch and hear the sessions on a big screen. A coffee outlet serves this area throughout each day with light refreshments. Seminars For those who want to dig deeper, seminars run throughout the day covering topics ranging from the highly practical to the deeply theological.
KIDS With dedicated groups for 3s, 4s, 5-7s, and 8-11s, Westpoint is a festival for the whole family. So whilst you are enjoying meeting with God, you can be sure your children are well cared for in the capable hands of our kids teams. Our desire is for children to meet with God too and become equipped for the plans He has for them, having a lot of fun along the way! Parent Child Area Is your child under 3? Not a problem. With the dedicated parent and child venue, you can enjoy a live video feed from the main meetings whilst your little one enjoys a room full of soft play and toys. The Ark We want to make sure everyone is catered for at Westpoint and so we also host The Ark, a group for children who have special needs or specific requirements which means they are unable to access regular Westpoint kids work. Great fun, brilliant worship, amazing sense of God s presence, I loved how we were encouraged to take part and step out, were just some of the things young people said about Commission Youth 2014. Book your place for 2015 - see God change your life and grow in confidence that He will use you to change lives around you.
ACCOMMODATION Camping The majority of our delegates camp on site with their local church - this is often one of the highlights of Westpoint, as relationships are built by games, barbecues and late night chats over hot chocolate and marshmallows. Catering Don t fancy cooking? A range of catering options are available on site. You can even pre-book each meal in the on-site café. Staying off Site If camping isn t for you, then you don t need to feel left out. Off-site and day tickets are available and there are plenty of B&Bs and hotels in the area to cater for you. JOIN THE TEAM 90% of all that happens at Westpoint is run by volunteers, from leading the kids work to cleaning the toilets. Why not sign up to be a part of the team and save on your booking fee as you go? Many of our servers say that they get even more out of Westpoint from serving on the team than they have done as regular delegates. In a recent poll, over 95% said they would serve again given the chance. But not only that, servers get 50 or 75 off their booking fee - and stewards come for free! ACCESSIBILITY We are committed to making Westpoint as accessible as possible to all. Deaf interpretation and electronic note taking are on offer in the main meetings and seminars, and there is also a chauffeur-driven golf buggy to enable less mobile delegates to access all areas of the site. In addition to this, our dedicated accessibility coordinator is here to help others with accessibility needs to enjoy Westpoint to its full potential. For more information about how we can help you, don t hesitate to get in touch.
