Celebrate Father s Day this year by enrolling your father and all those who give paternal care and love, in a Novena of Masses. During our Father s Day Novena, we will remember those special men who have nurtured us throughout our lives, both living and deceased, and we will call upon several retired priests to assist us in offering these Masses. Our Novena will begin on Father s Day, June 18. Cards are available in the Church as well as in the Gift Shop and Parish Office. Pick one up today so your father will be included in these nine days of prayers. Peter s Pence Collection June 17/18 Be a Witness of Charity Next weekend envelopes will be available in the pews for the Peter s Pence Collection which provides Pope Francis with the funds he needs to carry out his charitable works around the world. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and disasters. Join our Holy Father as a witness of charity to those who are suffering. Please be as generous as possible. THE INEXPRESSIBLE MYSTERY The God of the universe is mysterious. Science has not been able to solve the mystery of how the universe came into being or explain exactly what continues to give it creative energy and masterful design. No religion asserts that it has found words to name fully the ineffable mystery of God, for no matter what name we use, God always transcends our limited ability to understand. God is a mystery to be believed, not known. And yet, we Christians believe that our name for God best expresses that inexpressible mystery: God is the Most Holy Trinity of three persons united in a communion of love, pouring forth that creative, saving, sanctifying love into the world. Today s scriptures celebrate the mystery of the Trinity and give us clues for living that mystery in our lives. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
