Sholosh Seudot Halacha Discussion Question 1: A biter and broken hearted widow, who was not in her right mind, took to cursing her neighbours for no reason. Are such curses dangerous? Must her neighbours arrange special tikkun prayers to annul them, or go to exaggerated lengths to placate the widow and receive her forgiveness? Question 2: A couple left their young children with a babysitter while they went to a wedding, from which they returned late at night. When they returned, they heard their children crying hysterically inside the house. The door was latched from the inside, so their keys would not open the door. They banged frantically on the door and rang the bell over and over, but they could not rouse the babysitter, who had fallen into a deep slumber. Ultimately, the father had no choice but to jump from his neighbour s porch into his own, and come in through the porch door. The babysitter demanded her payment for staying with the children the full night, but they parents refused to pay, claiming she had been negligent by falling asleep while the children were still awake and left unsupervised. What are the answers? Find out this week with Rabbi Rothman at Shalosh Seuda
