Prayer Guide for August 5 August 11 5 Sunday I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. -Phi. 4:13 6 Monday Pray for the men returning from Canada on the Father/Son canoe trip. Thank God for the opportunity to invest in those relationships and that they would continue to grow as they return home. Pray for Pam and Josiah as they travel to Idaho this week as Josiah begins his job as a hunting guide. 7 Tuesday Pray for Mary Catherine Peachey, Bob Plank, & Melissa Yoder as they travel home from Romania. Pray that God would continue to bless the work overseas and that those returning from service would be encouraged here in the states. 8 Wednesday Pray for the Leadership Team of our church as they continue to provide guidance and direction to the body of believers here at Locust Grove. Specifically, pray for Max as he meets with the back doctor today to review the result of an MRI and to decide the best method of treatment. 9 Thursday Pray for Nathan Rittenhouse from RZIM as he prepares to travel to Belleville to preach on Sunday and as meets with young adults from our church in the afternoon. Pray for Theil and Andrea as they prepare to lead worship on Sunday 10 Friday Thank God today for our Sunday School teachers. They put in many unseen hours to serve our congregation in a vital way. Pray that they would be encouraged and refreshed as they pour their time and energy into their respective classes. Pray for the teachers and helpers needed for children s Sunday School and the nursery. 11 Saturday Pray for Pam as she travels home today from Boise, ID. She has a tight schedule for a connecting flight in Chicago O Hare- pray that the way would be made clear, and that her travel be smooth and on-time. Wanted: Several men and women (Teen leaders are invited to apply) to help lead kids in activities and games at DC4K at Locust Grove Church and the Juniata Valley YMCA beginning Monday, September 10, 2018. The program runs for 1 ½ hours from 6:30 PM 8 PM. (The Lumina Center team is full, but there are several openings at the Y and Belleville.) Grief Share is running on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in the MYF room. Grief Share is a 13 week support group for those suffering, a physical loss, of a loved one. Bring in your kids or grandkids for fun science experiments and activities while learning more about the importance of saving. The Youth account interest rate is currently 4% on the first $1000! Plus, during this week, we will give $5 to youths who deposit $15 to their new or existing youth savings accounts. Position Opening: St. John s Christian Day Care and Preschool is looking for substitute teachers. TRAUMA-DRAMA, a workshop helping educators, social workers, children s ministry leaders, and parents understand the role of trauma that contributes to actions/reactions in the daily lives of children in classroom, community, and home is scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 9 A.M. 3 P.M. The workshop will be held in the New Life Church Café, 101 N. Beech Street, Burnham, PA. The event includes a multi-session DVD and discussion series using Author Heather Forbes HELP FOR BILLY: A Beyond Consequences Approach to Helping Challenging Children in the Classroom.
