They are almost here! Walks 93 & 94. Please be in prayer for all involved, and turning in those pilgrim applications after praying about the perspective pilgrim. The Walks are designed to strengthen leaders in local churches...and we pray after your walk you are not only participating in putting other walks on, but you are plugged into your local church and building disciples there! And one of our new (she is really used because she has served your Emmaus Community on the Board before---and did an excellent job then and will now!) was left off my list last month. SORRY KARIN NUNER! See you at Gathering/ Commissioning on the FIRST SATURDAY, March 1, The words are FAITHFULNESS PRESENCE Matthew 25:14-30,"For it will be as when a man going on a journey called his servants and entrusted to them his property." The last two words are the key: "his property." They are the Lord's property, God's property. They are then, not something which man can give, but something which God alone controls. To read the rest of the article go to: raystedman.org/new-testament/matthew/living-dangerously Prayer Vigil online Sign Up The sign up sheet will be at the Gathering on March 1st! Your personally signed name on that sheet is a confirmation that you are involved in each Pilgrim s walk! Online signup is the next best thing to being there! Go to www.crosspointemmaus.org and click on the prayer Hands.

Volume XXVI, Number 3 Crosspoint Emmaus Newsletter March 2014 Page 2 All the neat things (we call it "Table Agape") that showed up on your table at meals on your walk came from members of this and other Emmaus communities. Some is hand made, some is bought, but it is all done tongue in cheek, "punny", and seriously to help you realize just how much Christ loves you! You can participate too! It takes seventy (70) pieces for each walk. It does not matter if you know it is not a "full" walk (I'll explain what a full walk is some other time) - we need this many pieces to set up the tables for meals. We purposely put out more places at the tables than we have people on the walk so the inside team can make sure and sit with different people at each meal. Terri Rider is our Board Member in charge of Table Agape, so please contact her if you have any questions. Send Off is a great time to bring it to camp. If you cannot make it to Send Off, please call Terri or any Board Rep and we will help you get it there. David Woerz #93 Men s Lay Director Debbie Hamilton #94 Women s Lay Director March Commisioning and Gathering The inside and outside teams for Walks 93 and 94 will be commissioned during the Gathering. The Gathering will begin with food and fellowship then praise through music and worship. March 1st at 6:00 pm at Sulphur United Methodist Church, 2022 W 14th St., Sulphur OK A map link is on the website under Maps. Rev. P J Stewart and her congregation are preparing for an extra long day because the Inside team training will begin at 9:00; the outside team training will begin at 5:00 and then at 6:00 the gathering will begin.

Volume XXVI, Number 3 Crosspoint Emmaus Newsletter March 2014 Page 3 Board Report NEW BUSINESS The Cross Point Board met on February 8th at Konawa First United Methodist Church in Konawa. The meeting was opened in prayer and our new Community Spiritual Director, PJ Stewart gave the devotional and prayer concerns were addressed and lifted up. Under New Business, nominations for the Fall Walk Lay Directors was taken and approved by the board. So, be sure to attend the women s closing on April 6th for the announcement! It has come to the Board s attention that not everyone is aware of the progression through Emmaus. It was decided that as a board we would be more intentional of training. Ms. Hiller will be putting an article in the newsletter called Did You Know that will highlight all that is involved in being a part of the Emmaus community and a prospective team member, both inside and outside the Conference Room. If you are a fan of Cross Point Camp on Facebook you may have noticed that some exciting The treasurer s report given by Mr. Barrett was reviewed and accepted. The community has received and been able to use the projectors that were purchased for trainings and the walks. They have been greatly appreciated by the teams! Each board member gave their individual reports and was reported by all that everything is in place and being prepared for the Men and Women s Walk to Emmaus # 93 and 94.

Volume XXVI, Number 3 Crosspoint Emmaus Newsletter construction work is going on, therefore a mo- tion was made and seconded to donate $500.00 to the Cross Point Prayer Room Remodel. Motion carried unanimously! If you want to give to this exciting remodel PLEASE contact Ken Long, director of Cross Point. (580) 564-2505, (580) 221-4240 It came to the attention of David Daniel that there is a prospective pilgrim who would like to attend the walk but because of physical disabili- ties is unable to because of the need of a service person to help her with everyday tasks. It was also said that the service person whom she has chosen to help her has in fact already been on the Walk to Emmaus and would be willing to come as her aide on the weekend. A motion was made and seconded that pilgrim would be allowed to attend the weekend with her service person. Motion carried unanimously. Praise God! How exciting that EVERYONE can attend the Walk to Emmaus! The meeting was adjourned and the Board wishes to thank Konawa First UMC for their hospitality! Please remember to attend the Gathering and Commissioning of Teams 93 and 94 on the FIRST SATURDAY March 1st at Sulphur United Methodist Church! We want to see you there! March 2014 Page 4

Volume XXVI, Number 3 Crosspoint Emmaus Newsletter March 2014 Page 5 Have you sponsored someone in the past? Where are they today? Sponsorship doesn t end after 72 hours. You should act as a mentor to them after their walk as well. Check up on them, invite them to come to gathering with you, call them and offer to drive them to candlelight. Many people leave the walk not knowing anyone but those around them in the conference room. I went on Walk 16a. It wasn t until Walk 70, when someone asked me to work with them on a walk, that I really became active think of all those years I lost!! I not only worked, but I sponsored someone on that walk as well. I got to witness what all went on outside, but also watch my pilgrim as she grew on the inside. From that Emmaus walk to the present, I can say I crave it! I miss seeing everyone and I want to do more of what is taught to us during the 72 hours. I...really became active - think of all those years I lost! can honestly say if I had not been encouraged and ALMOST forced, I would have missed out on so many wonderful things that I have got to be a part of over the past several years. I know some people aren t physically able to work the whole weekend and that is fine. Ask your pilgrim if they have signed the prayer vigil or ask them if they would make some snacks? There are so many ways to stay active in Emmaus that no one should ever be left behind. Being Registrar over the past two years I have had the privilege of praying for the pilgrims as there apps come in, and I often look for them after the walks to put a face to the name. There are many I never see return! I encourage you as sponsors to take responsibility to see that your pilgrim is active in a When I emailed the Newsletter to you, the email came back as undeliverable!... How often has this experience been your own? Surprise! It is your own once again!! Your help is needed in identifying these people so that we can get the newsletter safely into their hands this coming month. Do you know them? Please help me get in touch with them so we can update their information: Betty Stone, Kevin Cogden, Shannon Sampson, Edwina Lowry, Terry Jackson, Sommer Byer, Jamal Brown, Sherri Bradford, Kennan Barrington, John Aycox, Derrell Altom, Cory Fore. This little Babe Chick will appear each month until we located everyone! We are not mailing the newsletter so it is important to get the correct email addresses and for those who don t have email to know that they can view the newsletter on line at the crosspoint emamaus website. reunion group, in a church and pursuing a closer walk with Christ. If they are not, then encourage them and help lead them. I promise you the rewards are well worth it! Clinta Taylor

VOLUME XXVI, NUMBER 3 CROSSPOIN T EMMAUS NEWSLETTER MARCH 2014 Page 6 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. -James 5:13 As you read in my article last month, the Jesus Jesus song we sing at candlelight only has two chords in the entire song! And I brought up the fact that many of the familiar Emmaus tunes are very simple to play. There is one lady, who being asked to join the music team, learned how to play the guitar just for that occasion. When You can take into consideration that it is only 2 chords, it makes the whole experience very rewarding! Take my word for it and bring your instrument and join us at the next gathering and you ll see for yourself. The new jam session format we have initiated at gatherings creates an opportunity for all musicians, regardless of instrument and regardless of talent level, to come and be a part of the praise and worship ministry for our Crosspoint Emmaus community. It s a great opportunity for beginners to come and learn some of the Emmaus classics and it s an opportunity for seasoned veterans to share and help develop a stronger pool of musicians for the community and the walks. (Who knows, you may even learn all the words to that DeColores song See you at the gathering! Pastor Brad Crosspoint Emmaus Community, I'm sure you all remember how awesome it was to see the snack agape tables overflowing at each and every break on your walk. Please help us continue to provide an overwhelming gift of agape to the pilgrims of walks 93 and 94 by signing up to donate snack agape. There are still 128 items left on the men's snack agape list and 146 items on the women's snack agape list. Items remaining include over 35 bottles of pop, 30 dozen cookies, 4 loaves of sweet breads, 10 bags of chips, and many other fruit and snack items for each of the walks. If you recall how wonderful it was to have homemade items on your walk, you may want to bake those needed cookies and sweet breads yourself! Please go to crosspointemmaus.org and click on the jelly beans to see what items you can donate. All items need to be brought to the deans cabin or delivered to me prior to the walks. If you are going to be attending the next gathering on March 1st you can bring your items to me then. Also, if baking or shopping is not your thing, monetary donations are also very much appreciated. There is a place to sign up to give money on the snack agape sign up on the website (just click the jelly beans) however, you can not donate money online at this time. I will be at the gathering on March 1st with sign-up in hand. You can sign up to donate items at the gathering and/or donate money for items to be purchased. To all those who have donated and all those who will, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Just a Tad From Snack Agape De Colores, Katie Byrne

So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?
