EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS For all I know this Everyday Stewardship reflection is the last one you will ever read. That's not because I fear you will no longer get something out of reading these. At least, I hope not! It is because Jesus may very well return by this time next week. Then there will be no more need for reflections like these in bulletins, on websites, or wherever else you are reading this. You think the odds are against this happening in the next few days? I can gamble from time to time but I guess this is not something I am willing to say won't happen for sure. We do believe Jesus will come again, don't we? For all of us there are things we put off until tomorrow. Sometimes, that tomorrow never comes. We act like we have all the time in the world. However, time on this earth is for certain one thing that does not exist in unlimited supply. Death is the primary way earthly time ends for us. Yet there will come a time when Jesus returns and if you and I are still living at that time, I hope he finds us ready. Are you ready for such an event? Have you taken seriously your decision to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Has that decision moved you to live a life of stewardship where all you have and are belongs to God? Or have you put all of that off to somewhere down the road? Chances are you will be reading next week's reflection and nothing too earth changing will have happened. But then, maybe, just maybe, this time is when we all lose that bet. -Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS When will abortion end? Recently, former President Obama stated that public discourse has reverted back to the period of the 19th century. What was happening back then? Legal slavery, that s what. It was an abuse of the powerless by the powerful. Today, legal abortion is an even worse abuse of power. It violates our most basic sense of right and wrong. It goes against the most fundamental of all human rights: the right to live in harmony with others. It is the issue on which the Church is most qualified to teach because it can speak with moral authority. But the Church here has grown silent. Instead of authentically witnessing to the evils of abortion and the protection of life, it has left that job to others. Church leadership seems to have found other agendas to pursue. In the meantime, the culture of death has divided us. That s how evil works it divides, then conquers. When will legal abortion end? When the Church finds its voice and its will. When it becomes willing to challenge politicians, educate the culture, and exhort its faithful. When its leaders are willing to stand in protest. Legal abortion will end when the Church reasserts its moral authority, an authority that can heal and unite. It won t end any sooner. -Paul V. Esposito is a Catholic lawyer who writes on a variety of pro-life topics. He and his wife Kathy live in Elmhurst, Illinois and have six children. Do you know anyone who needs a warm Quilt? Tigerton s Quilt Group donates many quilts every year to people in need of them. They also make lap quilts and baby quilts. They have gone to Fr. Carr s in Oshkosh, to homeless shelters, abuse shelters, cancer clinic s, and more. We just want you to be aware of the ministry they enjoy in helping others to stay warm, and that this is happening in our Three Parish Family. You are also welcome to join this group! If you know of someone in need or would like to help, please contact: Joann Breaker 715-535-2363 or Three Parish Office 715-535-2571. Page 2 Three Parish Catholic Family

SENTIMENTS FOR SEMINARIANS As a simple way to support priestly vocations, besides your prayers, is to donate something to the annual Knights of Columbus drive. Since they don t get paid, have no job, its very hard for them to obtain simple items like: gas or gift cards, pens, paper, and stationery, soap, shampoo, body wash, razors, shaving cream, tooth- brushes, and toothpaste, etc. What a great way to say Merry Christmas to a seminarian. Just place your items in the container by the Knights of Columbus by November 26, 2017. We thank you in advance for your generosity. Deer Hunter s Dinner HOLY FAMILY-ST.
