Here are a few things we d like you to know about Overbrook: WE WANT TO KNOW YOU, so please sign in on the pew friendship pad. We invite you to leave your name and contact information so that we can be in touch with you. If you have any questions, concerns or ideas for Overbrook Church, please see one of the Pastors or any of our members. WE LOVE CHILDREN! We want you to feel comfortable keeping your children with you during the worship services. We ask them to come forward during our services for a special children s sermon. We encourage you to grab a few books or a Worship Activity Bag for your children from the display just outside the sanctuary doors. If you d prefer, we offer nursery care for ages infant to five years old throughout the service (and on Sunday mornings), which allows you to worship and learn as your children enjoy time with others their age. WE TRULY HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE: We are a vibrant, active congregation. We are highly engaged in community outreach. We have activities for all ages. SPECIAL HOLIDAY RUMPUS ROOM HOURS Tuesday, December 29th & Wednesday, December 30th, from 10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Parents/caregivers and preschoolers (siblings in kindergarten are also welcome) are invited to come enjoy family fellowship on our indoor playground. MEN S BREAKFAST GROUP Wednesday, December 30th, at 7:30 a.m. Join us for a breakfast fellowship at Tee Jayes Country Place (corner of Morse & High). All men are welcome! (Men s Breakfast Group meets every other week.) EPIPHANY SUNDAY BRUNCH Sunday, January 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. A brunch in Fellowship Hall will be provided. We ask that you help out with desserts by bringing leftover Christmas treats to share (a great way to keep your New Year s resolution to lead a healthier lifestyle). We also ask that you bring a donation of canned food, other non-perishables or a monetary donation to help restock the food pantry at the Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program (NNEMAP). After the holidays pantry inventory needs restocking! (On the 1st Sunday of each month we help to stock the shelves of local food pantries with our FOOD Sunday collection.) MISSION OPPORTUNITES Additional options can be found in weekly bulletins and on our website. Open Shelter Lunches Sunday, January 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. - We prepare lunches for homeless men at least once a month. Join us to pack lunches in our kitchen between services. Feed College Students UKIRK @ OSU - Monday, February 1st - We provide a meal each month for the students in the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at OSU. Sign up in the Narthex. BRIDGE GROUP Friday, January 8th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Join us for some fellowship and a game of cards. We welcome all levels from newbie to veteran players. Our goal is to have fun and meet new people! You do not have to play the whole time - stay for as long as you are able. (The Bridge Group plays every Friday.)
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP Sunday, January 10th, at 6:00 p.m. We welcome all youth for Youth Fellowship on Sundays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. We usually meet in the church s Youth Room, but sometimes venture out into the community. Join us for dinner, fellowship, program and fun. We hope to see you on January 10th for game night! THEOLOGY ON TAP Wednesday, January 13th, or Thursday, January 28th (both at 7:00 p.m.) Join us to discuss faith topics in a casual setting. We ve got two dates to best accommodate busy schedules. The January locations are yet to be determined, watch upcoming bulletins for information. This month we will discuss how we are called to follow Jesus and His teachings in our daily lives. It s based on the true story of a woman who takes on the Austrian government to try to recover a famous painting of her aunt. We ll gather to view the movie and then discuss the theological insights we uncover. Snacks, drinks, and comfy chairs are provided. As always, friends and dates are also welcome! (Hollywood Jesus takes place on 3rd Fridays from September through May.) WOMEN S BIBLE STUDY Tuesday, January 19th, at 9:30 a.m. Please prepare by reading Lesson 4. If you do not have the book, please read the following Scripture passages: Exodus 17:1-7; Psalm 42:1-2, 63:1; John 19:28. (All women are welcome to attend this monthly Bible study!)
