PRAYER OF CONFESSION Eric Ogi All: Merciful God, we do not know how to pray as we ought, and we know too well our failure to walk consistently in your ways. We confess the divisions we nurture, the selfish focus we keep, the wrongs we have done and the right things we have left undone. By your grace, forgive us. Fill us to overflowing with your love, that we might more fully love others. Shape us and our relationships anew, and challenge us to embrace Jesus way of loving ever more fully. Grant us courage and peace to travel the paths before us in his name. Amen. ASSURANCE OF GOD S GRACE One: Friends, let us proclaim the good news together: All: In Jesus Christ we are loved, forgiven, healed, and blessed, and invited into a shared hope for the world. Thanks be to God! Amen.

Today the Service Ministry is facilitating a food drive for the benefit of A Place to Turn. Collection bins may be found at both main entrances and donations will be transported to the food pantry tomorrow. Thank you! A Place To Turn is a choice food pantry located in Natick that takes pride in offering its Metrowest clients a friendly and dignified experience. Wellesley Village Church member and Service Ministry Deacon Karen Dale is a long time volunteer for the organization. Karen began by helping to stock food, sort donations and clean the storage rooms. When her work schedule conflicted with the food pantry s staffing needs, Executive Director Joanne Barry connected Karen with Kelly Hagan, a 6th grade teacher at Wayland Middle School. Kelly organizes a regular potluck dinner for her students and asks them to contribute food items to donate. Karen then transports the collected items from the school to the food pantry. Says Karen, I feel appreciated by the students and parents I feel useful and know that I am contributing.i feel grateful that there are people like Kelly and Joanne who really do the work of serving other s needs and help the rest of us to be a part of their missions.

Two Mission Trip Opportunities to FOR HIS CHILDREN! 2019 and 2020 Mission trips to For His Children are being planned! We have a number of individuals and families who have expressed interest in the one-week trips and we would like to know if there are others. For His Children (FHC) is one of the main outreach partner organizations of Village Church. For the past seventeen years, Village Church has sent mission teams to the two orphanages in Ecuador that FHC runs. These orphanages serve abandoned children, some with special needs, from infancy to early 20 s. We will be sending a group to FHC in March, 2019, during private school vacation, and in February, 2020, during public school vacation. Our trips include individual church members, families, or partial families with children 12 years old or older. The groups stay in comfortable housing at the orphanages and spend most of their time helping and playing with the children. There is also some time spent touring parts of Ecuador. It is a wonderful experience of bonding with each other and with the children and the Tias who care for them, while fulfilling the mission of caring for others. Please let us know if you would additional detailed information or would like to be part of the team! Contact Nancy Smith. nancyjsmith@comcast.net. 781-431-7921
