ITINERARY Symbols: B: Breakfast, L: Lunch, D: Dinner. Day 1 USA St. Petersburg, Russia N/A On flight Depart from your hometown to St. Petersburg. Day 2 St. Petersburg D Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel or similar Admission included or inside visit. Outside photo stop Welcome to St. Petersburg for an exciting and inspiring day! Our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to visit the HERMITAGE MUSEUM, housing the largest and richest collection of Western art in the entire world. Originally the personal gallery of Catherine the Great, the vast assemblage of art spans six buildings, including the Winter Palace. Astounding priceless masterpieces by Michelangelo, da Vinci, Picasso, Raphael, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, and more are displayed amid the fittingly opulent architectural design of the museum. As the collection is housed in the lavishly decorated Winter Palace, you will also see some of the historic rooms where Russian royalty once lived. Day 3 St. Petersburg Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel or similar. Visit the world-famous CATHERINE PALACE, former summer residence of the Russian tsars, with elaborately decorated blue-and-white facades. More than 100 kilograms of gold were used to decorate the sophisticated stucco facade and numerous statues erected on the roof. Next visit the PETERHOF PALACE, the amazing Summer Palace of Peter the Great, with its gorgeous landscaped grounds and fountains overlooking the Gulf of Finland, referred to as the "Russian Versailles". Tonight, enjoy an authentic RUSSIAN BALLET SHOW. Day 4 St. Petersburg Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel or similar Today, enjoy a full day tour of St. Petersburg. Pass by the BRONZE HORSEMAN, a statue of Peter the Great and one of the symbols of Saint Petersburg. See the CRUISER AURORA, a 1900 Russian protected cruiser that served during the Russo-Japanese War, currently a museum ship. One of the first incidents of the October Revolution in Russia took place on the cruiser Aurora. Take a NEVA RIVER CRUISE to feel the romance and see the beauty of this city. Visit the CHURCH OF THE SAVIOR ON SPILLED BLOOD, an architectural landmark of central St. Petersburg, and a unique monument to Alexander II the Liberator. It features Russia s largest collection of mosaics, Italian colored marbles, decorative stones from the Urals and Altai region, as well as a collection of Russian heraldic mosaics. Explore the ST. ISAAC S CATHEDRAL, the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city. It was built between 1818 and 1858, by the French-born architect Auguste Montferrand, to be one of the most impressive landmarks of the Russian Imperial capital. The cathedral's main dome rises 101.5 meters and is plated with pure gold. The facades are decorated with sculptures and massive granite columns (made of single pieces of red granite), while the interior is adorned with incredibly detailed mosaic icons, paintings and columns made of malachite and lapis lazuli. Day 5 St. Petersburg Moscow, Russia Holiday Inn Suschevsky Hotel or similar This morning, visit the PETER AND PAUL FORTRESS, the original citadel of the city, built on re-claimed lands along the Neva River between 1703 and 1740 to protect Russia s new capital from a possible Swedish attack. The Swedes were defeated before the fortress was even completed. From 1721 onwards, the fortress housed 2 of 6

part of the city's garrison and served as a high security political jail. The prison was turned into a museum in 1924. The most visible landmark within the Fortress is the PETER AND PAUL CATHEDRAL, whose spire stands more than 400 feet tall and features a magnificent golden angel holding a cross (one of the most prominent symbols of St. Petersburg). Built between 1712 and 1733, the cathedral was one of the first in Russia to be decorated with paintings and icons. The iconostasis was carved by Moscow craftsmen in the 1720s and contains 43 original icons from the 18 th century. The bell tower of the cathedral is the world s largest Orthodox bell tower and at the base of the tower lay the burial place of all the Russian Emperors and Empresses from Peter the Great to Alexander III. Visit the YUSUPOV PALACE, built around 1770 by the French architect Jean- Baptiste Vallin de la Mothe. Over the years numerous well-known architects worked on the palace, producing a variety of architectural styles. From 1830 to 1917, the palace belonged to the House of Yusupov, an immensely wealthy family of Russian nobles, known for their philanthropy and art collections. The palace was the site of Grigori Rasputin's murder in 1916. Later, take the HIGH-SPEED TRAIN (2nd Class) to Moscow and enjoy some free time. Day 6 Moscow Vladimir Suzdal (B,L, D) Pushkarskaya Sloboda Hotel or similar Arrive in VLADIMIR for a panoramic city tour, where you will become acquainted with the main highlights of the city. The first stop is the ASSUMPTION CATHEDRAL (DORMITION CATHEDRAL), a unique monument of the white-stone architecture of Vladimir. The cathedral was built in the middle of the 12 th century by Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky as the main church of the Vladimir-Suzdal Principality. World-famous frescoes by Andrei Rublev are preserved there. You will then proceed to the small, one-domed CATHEDRAL OF SAINT DEMETRIUS, built in the beginning of the 12 th century by Prince Vsevolod as his palace s church. The cathedral s interior still features frescoes of the 12 th century. Next, see one of Vladimir's most prominent landmarks, the GOLDEN GATES, built in the early 12 th century as the main entrance to the city. They are an integral part of the City's heritage, having witnessed its history over many centuries. The Gates were built as an impregnable fortress with massive oak doors bound with gilded copper. Day 7 Suzdal Sergiyev Posad Posadskiy Hotel or similar Enjoy a city tour of SUZDAL, often called the Russian Mecca. Suzdal is amazingly tranquil and beautiful with its numerous churches, wooden houses, bird songs and the ringing of bells throughout the day. Visit the oldest part of the city, the SUZDAL KREMLIN, dating from the 10 th century. It was originally a fortress or citadel and was the religious and administrative center of the city. It is most notably the site of the CATHEDRAL OF THE NATIVITY, a World Heritage Site, and one of the eight White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal. See the magnificent "golden gates" which adorn the cathedral's south and west portals to this very day, real masterpieces of 13 th century Russian applied art. The cathedral is surrounded by a ring of earthen walls in an oxbow of Kamenka River, and it is one of the most complex monuments of Russian medieval architecture. Visit the ARCHBISHOPS CHAMBERS, which houses the Suzdal History Exhibition, which includes a visit to the 18th-century Cross Hall. Explore the open-air MUSEUM OF WOODEN ARCHITECTURE, which recreates the lives and traditions of the people who lived centuries ago. The wooden constructions from different areas of the Vladimir region were brought to this place. The ensemble includes churches, log houses, mills, barns, etc. *During the low season, the Museum of Wooden Architecture will be substituted with the Spaso-Yevfimievsky Monastery of Our Savior. Day 8 Sergiyev Posad Mosocw Holiday Inn Suschevsky Hotel or similar 3 of 6

Considered by some to be the Russian Vatican, SERGIYEV POSAD is the temporary residence of the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church. Visit the TRINITY ST. SERGIUS MONASTERY (LAVRA), one of Russia s most beautiful monasteries, where pilgrims have journeyed since the 14th century. It was built in the first half of the 1340s by St. Sergius of Radonezh, who remains one the most venerated saints in Russia. The monastery includes more than fifty edifices constructed by Moscow, Pskov and Yaroslavl craftsmen. In 1993 it entered the UNESCO World Heritage list. Visit a traditional MATRYOSHKA DOLL SHOP. A matryoshka doll also known as a Russian nesting doll, refers to a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size placed one inside another. The number of nested figures is traditionally not less than five, up to several dozen with sufficiently fine craftsmanship. Traditionally the outer layer is a woman, dressed in a sarafan. The figures inside may be of either gender; the smallest, innermost doll is typically a baby lathed from a single small piece of wood. The artistry is in the painting of each doll, which can be extremely elaborate. Day 9 Moscow Holiday Inn Suschevsky Hotel or similar Start your Moscow s city tour with the RED SQUARE. The buildings surrounding the Red Square are all significant in some respect. On the West side is Lenin's Mausoleum, to the South is the elaborate brightly domed SAINT BASIL'S CATHEDRAL. On the Eastern side is the GUM department store, and the Northern side is occupied by the State Historical Museum. Then visit the KREMLIN, a fortified complex at the heart of Moscow that includes five palaces, four cathedrals, and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers. The complex serves as the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation. In Kremlin, visit the ARMOURY CHAMBER, a world-wide known treasure-house hosting ancient Russian state regalia, ceremonial vestments, church utensils, gold and silver relics, with its lavishly decorated stations in marble, mosaics, chandeliers and statues. Then travel a few stops on the unique metro, with its lavishly decorated stations in marble, mosaics, chandeliers and statues. Enjoy the world famous MOSCOW CIRCUS SHOW tonight.
