"Heavenly Father, you protect us. Shield us from anything that would take our focus away from you. Teach us how to pray without ceasing. Give us a fervent passion for seeking You and bringing our requests before You. Amen." "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. 1st WEEK: 10/1-10/7 Prayer Focus: This week, let s stand in agreement and pray for all the states and countries that were devastated by the recent hurricanes. Pray for the people of Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean. Prayer Starter: God, you are our refuge and strength, an ever- present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake. Help us to Be still, and know that you are God, even in the face of natural disasters. Show us how to meet the needs of our community, country, and world. Reference: Psalm 46
2nd WEEK: 10/8-10/14 Prayer Focus: This week, let s stand in agreement and pray for our President and his advisors. Also, let s pray for our supreme, federal, state, and local government officials as well as the men and women serving in the military.. Prayer Starter: Father God, bless our President and his staff with your wisdom and the ability to act in obedience to that wisdom. We want and need Your power to flow in their lives as well as ours. Place Godly advisors, counsel, and people around those in all levels of our government so that Your will may influence the decisions being made that affect us and our country. Grant them your peace and direction, and unify us in the name of Jesus for we know a house divided against itself cannot stand. Reference: 1 Timothy 2:1-3, Mark 3:25
3rd WEEK: 10/15-10/21 Prayer Focus: This week, let s stand in agreement and pray for our Pastor, Dr. Rev. Larry Green, ministerial staff: Rev. Johnnie C. Smith, Rev. Edward Hardy, Rev. Ruthanne Darby, Min. Troy Meade, and all church leaders and officers. Prayer Starter: Heavenly Father, we pray that you would continue to shield, protect, guide, and empower our Pastor, ministerial staff, church leaders and officers. Help our Pastor and ministerial staff to preach the word of truth, being ready in season and out of season; to reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching (2 Timothy 4:2). Assist them in new ways as they prepare and deliver Your sermons. Help our leaders and officers adequately and effectively equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). Remove all disunity, strife, and discord that we may focus on proclaiming Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. (Colossians 1:28)
4th WEEK: 10/22-10/28 Prayer Focus: This week, let s stand in agreement and pray for all the youth of our church and world. Prayer Starter: Father, we ask a special blessing and outpouring of your Spirit into our children. Help them to know their purpose and identity in You, and let their character reflect that of Christ. Bless them with godly friendships and mentors; remove the people from their lives that are distractions from their calling. Help them to preserve their purity and reignite a passion in them that they hunger and thirst after Your righteousness as never before. Give healing to their minds, hearts, and bodies according to Your power. Reference: Matthew 5:6
5th WEEK: 10/29-10/31 Prayer Focus: This week, let s stand in agreement and pray for the spirit of Jubilee and transformation to invigorate and excite us to do evangelism and discipleship in new ways. Also, let s pray that we will apply all we have learned and received this October Prayer Month. Prayer Starter: God, thank you for being so faithful. Lord, help us to truly walk in Jubilee and be free of all the debt and baggage we have carried for so long. We want to walk in the freedom Christ gives us. Help us to apply all you have revealed and reminded us of during this October Prayer Month. Help us to pray without ceasing always, knowing that you hear us when we call.
