MEDINA POLICE REPORT MAY 21, 2018 TO MAY 27, 2018 (18003972) Traffic/Complain Reported: 05-21-2018 0508 Vehicle was crossing over the center line and fog line. Driver said he were tired. Citation was issued. Highway 55 and County Road 101, Medina (18003976) Suspicious Activity Reported: 05-21-2018 0851 Resident called to report her daughter had received a suspicious text message. She said there was a web address in the message and the person had sent a photo. Police advised that most likely the message had been randomly sent to her daughter and that the web address would most likely contain a virus. Police suggested she delete the message and block the number. 1100 block Settlers Road, Medina (18003977) Animal Complaint Reported: 05-21-2018 0903 Numerous complaints of dog at large. 100 block Westfalen Drive, Medina (18003979) Prop Lost/Found Reported: 05-21-2018 1003 Employee found two blue Mongoose mountain bikes when arriving for work. Bikes were taken to the Medina Police Department for safekeeping until the owner comes forward. 2100 block Highway 55, Medina (18003978) Suspicious Activity Reported: 05-21-2018 0957 Resident called the office regarding a suspicious message that she had received on her phone. She said she received two separate messages from someone claiming to live down the street; the message was sexually explicit and contained a web address. Police told her it was most likely not someone from actually down the street and that the web address most likely contained a virus and suggested she delete the messages and block the number. 3600 block Chippewa Road, Medina (18003980) Animal Complaint Reported: 05-21-2018 1107 Report of a black lab at large. Police spoke to the resident who said the dog wasn t hers but they were watching it for a friend. 100 block Westfalen Trail, Medina (18003996) Animal Complaint Reported: 05-21-2018 1525 Report of a dog in the road. Police were unable to locate the dog.

400 block Ridge View Circle, Medina (18004012) Suspicious Act Reported: 05-22-2018 0214 Police observed a vehicle parked in the 21st Century Bank parking lot. The business was closed. Police observed that the vehicle was warm, indicating that it had not been sitting there for very long. There was an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the rear of the vehicle and also a vaping device. Police searched the area; however, were unable to locate any suspicious persons or activity. 600 block Medina Street N, Loretto (18004016) Car/Stalled Reported: 05-22-2018 0424 Driver had a flat tire and was waiting for AAA to arrive. Highway 55 and Willow Drive, Medina (18004018) Hangup 911 Reported: 05-22-2018 0737 Employee stated there was no problem; misdial. 3900 block County Road 116, Medina (18004020) Animal Complaint Reported: 05-22-2018 0832 Police received an anonymous complaint of an unattended dog. The dog would charge and comes off the property into the road and has scared families as they walk or bike by the residence. Police spoke with the dog owner and made him aware of the numerous incidents. The owner said they would address the issues and use the underground fencing so the dog cannot leave the property. It was also suggested the dog be let out into the backyard which the owner agreed they could do. 4400 block Shorewood Trail, Medina (18004026) Scam Reported: 05-22-2018 1556 Resident called to report she received two voicemails from an unknown caller instructing her to contact the IRS regarding four warrants. She became a little concerned when she returned the phone call the individual didn t know how to spell Minnesota. 3400 block Elm Creek Drive, Medina (18004040) Suspicious Reported: 05-23-2018 0055 Driver stated he and his friend like to drive down behind the pine trees to talk and hang out because it is private. 500 block Highway 55, Medina (18004050) Welfare Check Reported: 05-23-2018 1239 Request to check the residence to make sure an individual was ok. Individual was fine.

3000 block Willow Drive, Medina (18004052) Prop Lost/Found Reported: 05-23-2018 1436 Resident found a Garmin Edge 820 and turned it over to the police department for safekeeping. 2000 block Hamel Road, Medina (18004059) Traffic/Complain Reported: 05-23-2018 2035 Ongoing issues with kids racing dirt bikes on Lakeshore Avenue. Police located a group of young kids with dirt bikes and spoke with the resident who acknowledged the kids had been riding a couple of the 49cc bikes and a 110 cc bike. While riding, the kids had not been wearing helmets. Police advised the larger bike could not be ridden at all since it was large enough to be considered a motorcycle and if the small bikes were ridden, helmets were required. 3100 block Birch Avenue, Medina (18004060) Suspicious Act Reported: 05-23-2018 2324 Individual reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like a door closing. Police checked the interior of the residence and found everything secure; then learned that the AC unit is on the roof and the noise she heard was the AC unit turning on. 2800 block Hunter Drive, Medina (18004069) Welfare Check Reported: 05-24-2018 0838 Police received a request for a welfare check of an individual sleeping in a vehicle. Driver said he was just tired and pulled over to take a nap. Driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia and was cited. Arrowhead Drive and Meander Road, Medina (Cited) Bauer, Dale Edward, from St. Paul Park (Age:52) 18004072) Forgery/Rpt Reported: 05-24-2018 1449 Employee reported fraud/forgery on behalf of her employer that had phishing email sent to clients resulting in client paying invoice to an account that does not belong to the company. Referred to Investigations. 800 block Meander Court, Medina (18004081) Domestic / DWI Reported: 05-24-2018 2042 Miller arrested and released pending formal charges. Police were unable to locate the vehicle/driver. 300 block Clydesdale Trail, Medina (18004087) House Fire Reported: 05-25-2018 0330 Determined that the fire was caused by a lightning strike. Small fire in the attic above the garage. While on scene, a small fire started at the neighbor s home. Fires were extinguished. 4000 block Shorewood Trail, Medina. (18004100) Disturbance Reported: 05-25-2018 1553 Report of panhandlers; anonymous caller said she wanted police to tell them to leave. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate anyone. Public works was advised. 2900 block Ardmore Avenue, Medina (18004108) Suspicious Act Reported: 05-25-2018 2234 Suspicious vehicle and individual walking around with a flashlight. Police made contact with the individual who said he had been looking for a lost dog and that the dog was found under a trailer. 600 block Shawnee Woods Road, Medina 18004125) Hangup 911 Reported: 05-26-2018 0943 Police spoke with a group of golfers. The golfers said they saw nothing suspicious in the area. 3300 block Hamel Road, Medina (18004128) Car/Stalled/Citation Reported: 05-26-2018 1212 Police came upon stalled vehicle that displayed expired plates. Owner arrived, had updated insurance, and admitted he had expired registration. He just took the out from storage and trying it out. Citation was issued for expired registration.
