The Food and Drug Administration signed a new contract to acquire "fresh" aborted fetal organs for research creating so-called "humanized mice" with human immune systems. Pro-life groups have signed a letter to Secretary Alex Azar, head of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, expressing shock and dismay that the FDA is "using federal tax dollars and fomenting demand for human body parts taken from babies who are aborted." Faith Formation For All! Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us. From Mark 9 Faith is a lifelong journey toward God. We don t always get it all or even get it right. But we can try to build upon even the smallest signs of faith - in ourselves and in others. There are many obstacles that might prevent the growth of faith. But WE should not be among those obstacles. There are things in our lives that nurture faith, and there are things that hinder it. When our relationships with others are positive, encouraging, healthy we are nurturing faith to grow. When we treat others with unkindness, negativity or even a mean-spirited attitude we are creating obstacles to faith. Jesus teaches us in today s Gospel that we are supposed to do everything we can to help others have faith - and work hard not to create obstacles. AS A FAMILY, how will you encourage and uplift others this week? The Adult RCIA meets weekly, Wednesdays at 6:30PM. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is a process for the unbaptized (catechumen) and those baptized in another Christian faith, or the Catholic faith (candidates) who are seeking full communion in the Catholic Church. For more information, or to consider serving in this ministry, join us Wednesday in the parish hall. OUR NEXT BAPTISM PREPARATION SESSION (for parents, godparents and any adult in the faith life of an infant child you are preparing for baptism) will be WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10th 6:30PM. Please contact Sue to register. Faith Formation is in FULL SWING! Don t miss the enriching fun Contact the office for more info and to register. We are here to serve you in faith!
