From the desk of Father... Page 2 October 14, 2018 St. Francis de Sales Parish Picnic Come out to join the SFDS School and Parish in fellowship today, Sunday, Oct 14th for our parish picnic. The picnic will take place in our parish courtyard and will be from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Hotdogs and drinks will be provided. Bring a favorite dish to share. If you decide to bring dessert, please bring cupcakes or cookies. We hope to see you there! The Knights of Columbus are offering coffee and doughnuts at their booth in our church courtyard after the 7:00am and 9:00am Masses this morning. ST FRANCIS DE SALES FOOD PANTRY The Food Pantry Program through St. Francis de Sales (these are the items parishioners bring to mass and place in the green bins at the back of the church) assists families who are currently going through some rough times. Our Food Pantry is very small right now, but the need is great with so many families struggling to feed their families. Even though our food pantry offers one bag, once a month, for each family in need, there is not enough food to provide one bag for each family. Will you please check your pantry for any non-expired/non-perishable items, such as canned soup, fruit, or vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, rice, beans, dry cereal, energy bars, flour, sugar, cooking oil, pasta, or spaghetti sauce, and bring an item(s) to mass next week? Our Lord said, Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me. Be one of the people who make a difference in someone s life. God will reward your kindness. Thank You.
Parish & Community Activities Page 3 October 14, 2018 Women s Ministry News On Saturday, November 17th, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, the Women s Ministry will host a Holiday Boutique. On Sunday, November 18th from 7:30am to 1:30pm they will also be hosting a Have- it -UR Way breakfast in the parish hall. We invite everyone to come and shop, eat, and enjoy the fellowship of St. Francis de Sales. So finish your fall cleaning, and call us to schedule a pick up. We will be accepting everything except clothes, large furniture, and large televisions. We will also be accepting Christmas items including trees, ornaments, and trimming. The Altar and Rosary Society is making German Chocolate Bundt Cakes with Kahlua again this year as a fundraiser for the celebration mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe in December. We will be providing yummy, moist samples after each mass on Saturday and Sunday, October 27th and 28th. Pre-orders will be taken that weekend. The cost is $20 for each cake and must be paid at the time you order. You can pick up your cake on Sunday, November 11 in the hall. Thanks for helping us to make this mass a special celebration with a beautiful procession of mariachis singing and playing instruments.
