The Seward United Methodist Fai h FULL Times As we enter into a holy time as a church of prayer and discernment, you are invited to join in the prayer movement. We pray that we may listen to God s voice and pray for the church. Prayer is a way of opening ourselves up to God s voice and to the heart of God and one another. So with this in mind, will you join in prayer? From now until February, you are nvited to join Bishop Ruben Saenz Jr., the Council of Bishops, and United Methodists around the world to pray Psalm 23 and the Lord s Prayer. You are invited to join in prayer each day at 2:23 p.m. Watch in future weeks for prayer resources via the conference's website, as well as a weekly prayer prompt for more ways to join in prayer together. To learn more, click on this link: https://www.greatplainsumc.org/forwardinunity SUMC conversation date: Sunday Sept. 16 3:00 pm This is your opportunity to learn more on the topic & ask questions.
Women on Wednesdays WOW! Wednesdays at 7:15p.m. Join us on Wednesday, September 5th for a kick-off meal and idea sharing for this coming fall in the SUMC Parlor Bible Study, dinner church, book study, possibly other days and/or studies, etc We want your input! Upcoming dates to add to your calendars at home... Join the men on Saturday, September 15th at 8a.m. at Sparetime for fellowship, eating, and devotion/prayer. A short mission or project will follow for those who wish to or are able. This is one way the men of our church family/friends connect when not sitting in the pews grow your connection to other men in our community of faith in a casual setting. Notes from Jo Ellen Church Family Life Have you ever noticed how many different ministries you could be a part of in the life of SUMC? If not, then stop by almost any day of the week and you will see children being ministered to, music playing and being sung, folks gathering around tables and food being shared, Bible studies and Sunday School opportunities for faith development, and much more. But the church is not to just minister and serve those inside of our walls. We are to be the church to our community to those we know AND to those we don t. When you reach out you share the love of Jesus with others who may or may not already know him. When you attend a community event/game/activity and share God s love, you are reaching out! We want to find ways to reach out, that meet the needs of the community we serve for Jesus. Many of you already do this in so many ways but perhaps have never thought of it as the mission of the church. These are the third places where people gather and our Bishop, Rueben Saenz Jr., has encouraged us to go there to be there to minister there. So where is that in Seward and the county? Is it at the dog park? Is it at the sports complex? Is is at a local restaurant? Is it in your neighborhood? Help us look and listen and learn where we need to be sharing the Christian World Thank Offering: Sunday, September 23rd at Worship and SS Crop Walk with the Ministerial Assocation: Sunday, October 7th 2p.m. Fall Hayride at the Curtis Family Farm: Sunday, October 14th 5p.m. Church Bazaar on Saturday, November 10th lots of goodies and fun! Recent volunteers assisted with items to be hung and our teachers have worked hard to set up new classrooms and ready the rooms for the new year and groupings.
