Spirit God, Be Our Breath Spirit God: be our breath, be our song. Blow through us, bringing strength to move on. Our world seems inward, defensive, withdrawn Spirit God, be our song.

Patient God: soothe our pride, calm our fear. Comfort us. When we know you are near We grow more certain, our vision is clear. Patient God, calm our fear.

Loving God: be our voice, be our prayer. Reaching out, joining hands as we share, We seek your guidance through friendship and care. Loving God, be our prayer.

Spirit God: be our breath, be our song. Blow through us, bringing strength to move on. Through change, through challenge, we ll greet the new dawn Spirit God, be our song.

Gather Us In Gather us in, ground us in you. Gather us in, ground us in you. Gather us in, gather us in, Ground us, ground us in you.

Leader: People: God is Holy Mystery, the Presence at the heart of all that is. We come to seek the light of divine love.

Leader: Like sunlight sparkling on freshly fallen snow, that love is reflected to us through the Spirit.

People: As we open ourselves to see and hear, to touch and feel revelations of divine energy, we sense once more the spark that energizes and motivates our own loving hearts, our creative thinking, our hopeful spirits.

Leader: We gather for worship as a community of separate individuals, united in our intention to root our days and our nights, our efforts and our joys, in deep faith, which sustains and enriches.

People: With God s help, may we be present to one another and to the Holy One in prayer and praise, in hearing and responding.

Growing in Faith

Love Your Neighbour Love your neighbour. When someone helps you Then you ll understand, When you love your neighbour, Loving means lending a hand.

If you see someone who s hurt or in need, Maybe it s time to perform a good deed. And when you ve finished you ll find it s true, When you make them feel better, you ll feel better too.

Love your neighbour. When someone helps you Then you ll understand, When you love your neighbour, Loving means lending a hand.

Come Holy Spirit. Sanctify this place. Come Holy Spirit (Stephen Spencer) Shine your light upon us. Fill us with your grace. Make us disciples of your living word. Come Holy Spirit. Come.

All: How do we hold a mystery? How do we hear the sound of silence? We reach and strain, we clutch and strive, and still the word of God eludes us.

But now, uncertain, we feel the stirring of your breath, like thunder brewing the first vibrations of your voice, and know without knowing that you are near.

We feel your presence and at your urging with worship we respond. In Jesus name we trembling wait. Amen.

Come Holy Spirit. Sanctify this place. Come Holy Spirit (Stephen Spencer) Shine your light upon us. Fill us with your grace. Make us disciples of your living word. Come Holy Spirit. Come.

Deuteronomy 18:15-20

Invitation to the Table

Sean: In the name of the One who said, I am the bread of life, I invite you to come and eat. Alicia: In the name of the one who said, I am the true vine, I invite you to come and drink. Sean: In the name of the One who said, love one another as I have loved you Alicia: I invite you to the table of Jesus Christ.

Bread of Life More Voices 194

Bread of Life Bread of life, feed my soul, As the presence of the spirit makes me whole. Bread of life, fill my heart With the grace and mercy you impart.

I have heard your voice calling, Come, my friend, and share In the feast that is laid out for you To show how much I care.

Bread of life, help me live A life as pure and true as Jesus did. Bread of life, help me see The boundless love of Christ for you and me.

I have heard your voice calling, Come, my friend, and share In the feast that is laid out for you To show how much I care.

Bread of life, feed my soul, As the presence of the spirit makes me whole. Bread of life, fill my heart With the grace and mercy you impart.

All: Amen. Sean: By these signs of bread and wine, we recognize the longings of all our hearts for a time when all humanity will be one family when justice and compassion will be the way we live according to the One we seek. Alicia: Holy Spirit, hover over our lives, uniting us in these signs and strengthening us to live the resurrected life of Christ in the world.

Sean: On the night before he died, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks to God, he broke it, and gave it to those who sat with him saying: Take, eat. This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. Alicia: In the same way he took the cup saying: This cup is the new covenant sealed in my blood, shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.

Sean: Today we do as Jesus asked of us. Alicia: Sean Alicia: We eat and drink in remembrance of him. I now invite you to come forward... And partake in this communion.

Sharing the Bread and Cup

All: For the bread we have eaten, for the wine we have tasted, for the life we have received, we thank you God. Grant that what we have done and have been given here, may so put its mark on us, that it may remain always in our hearts and minds.

Grant that we may grow in Christian love and understanding, and that ours may be lives of faithful action, in Christ s name. Amen.
