Are You Guilty Before God? Have you ever felt guilty before the Creator? Yes, we all have. There is a reason for this. We are guilty due to our sin. When the first man, Adam, sinned against God, Adam knew he was guilty. Genesis 3:8-11 Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? Who told Adam that he was guilty before God? His conscience did. Conscience is an inner, utterless voice that tells us we are guilty against a holy God. We are all accountable to God: Psalms 96:13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Punishment for Sin 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. We are found guilty due to our sin before a holy God. Our conscience has told us on the inside that we are guilty. Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Love of God 1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. The way for sinful man to approach a holy God is through an offering. The offering that forgives sin is the Blood of Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for sin. Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

God loved this sinful world enough to provide an offering in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ loved you enough to provide you with this offering of His own Blood. While Jesus was on the cross, He said: Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why did God the Father allow Jesus Christ to be forsaken on the cross? He was bearing our sins and God the Father accepts this as the one offering for sin. Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. On the cross, Jesus was bearing the sins of the whole world; the Lord had laid on him the iniquity of us all. There was no one to comfort him in his heaviness; and the light of God's countenance was for the time withdrawn from him. He was "left alone" that he might bear man's sins in their full and crushing weight, and by bearing those sins, He could forgive and save. Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; The Value of His Blood: 1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Blood Must Be Applied The Holy Bible calls Jesus our Passover: 1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. This word Passover refers back to an account in the book of Exodus, chapter 12. The Children of Israel were to take an innocent lamb and shed its blood and apply that blood to the door-posts of their houses. When they did this, judgment was spared.

Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. God was teaching us that the Blood of Jesus Christ must be applied to your heart to be forgiven. By faith, you turn from your sins and trust His Blood for forgiveness. I did this 35 years ago, and all my guilt for sin was removed. You should turn to the Creator and in a simple prayer ask Him to forgive your sins and trust in the offering for your sins the offering of the Blood of Jesus Christ. If you have received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then there is no condemnation for you. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Only the offering of the Blood of Jesus Christ has the power to give us a clean heart and remove the guilt of sin. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. All Guilt & Sin Removed Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, (imputeth means to put on your account) Romans 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
