NAMES OF ALLAH Al Wadood The Good Life Oct 14, 2018 5 Safar 1440

TABLE OF CONTENTS NAMES OF ALLAH AL WADOOD... 1 Introduction... 1 What is WADD?... 1 ALLAH AL WADOOD?... 1 Consequence of the love of allah?... 3 HOW can we get the love of allah... 4

NAMES OF ALLAH AL WADOOD INTRODUCTION Love is a very strong emotion and it can destroy and build tremendously. Among all the emotions love is the most powerful. Life without love is like a barren desert. Today we will talk about true love which is very pure. The opposite of pure love is obsessive and violent love. The purpose of our life is to love Allah. Faith and righteous good deeds are the foundation of a good life. What is WADD? It means pure Love It means true Love It means to not have any motives for love It means also how the love is expressed and presented. Means you cannot love someone and be harsh to them. It means very gentle love and not obsessive love ALLAH AL WADOOD? The name Al wadood cannot be detached from Allah. All the names of Allah makes us attach to Allah out of respect and magnify. The source of all the love around the world is Allah. The name Al Wadood is mentioned in the Quran twice.

Surah Hood Ayah 90 Allah is encouraging the sinners to repent. Allah tells the sinners to repent to Allah and He will love them even if no one else loves them. Surah Burooj Ayah 14 It happens at times we forgive people but cannot love them and vice versa, Allah al Wadood forgives, has mercy and loves those who repent. No matter how much we have sinned, if we return to Allah then He will love us. Allah draws closer to the people even though he rose over the throne. There is no one like Allah and we need to feel his gentle and pure love. General Love of Allah Love of Allah is for? ---- All the creation How? ----Through his hidden and seen blessings. Everyone enjoys the general love of Allah but we do not appreciate it. Allah showers us his general love. Allah created us with love. He perfected our creation. Allah puts love with mercy in the hearts of husband and wife enough though they are strangers before marriage. Allah blesses them with children. 2

If we look at the and all signs of nature reflect the love of Allah e.g. skies, the earth, the flowers etc. Everyone has the general love of Allah in order for their life to be nurtured and beautified. General Love of Allah The people who can feel the love of Allah are 1. Prophets 2. Messengers 3. Righteous people The prophets, messengers and the righteous people love Allah and they feel the love of Allah. Al Wud is love with actions and we will see the consequences of the Love of Allah CONSEQUENCE OF THE LOVE OF ALLAH? 1. Allah will be pleased with the person 2. Allah will praise the person 3. Allah will show His love through the provision, through love of the people. And even if the person is going through problems then Allah will give him the console. 4. Allah puts love in the heart of people for this person Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad When Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel, saying, 'Allah loves so and so, O Gabriel love him' So Gabriel would love him and then would make an announcement in the Heavens: 'Allah has loved so and-so therefore you should love him also.' So all the dwellers of the Heavens would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth." (Hadith No. 66, Vol. 8) Allah loves towards the believers is special love. The more you belief the more you will be worthy of the love of Allah. Allah puts the love of Allah in the hearts of the believers. Allah makes them worthy of his love. This 3

is a big favour from Allah because not every heart is worth to carry the love of Allah. The heart is the place of loving Allah alone. This is our attachment to Allah and this is our fuel to survive in this life. One cannot enjoy his life without loving because this is the sweetest thing and believers are so overpowered by the love of Allah love of Allah, that they are not disturbed by the calamities of their life. Love of anyone besides Allah will not allow the heart to be at rest because the heart is created to love Allah. Loving Allah will make our heart meet its purpose Al Wadood is the one who is full of love. He loves both the sinners and the ones doing good deeds HOW CAN WE GET THE LOVE OF ALLAH 1. Make supplication asking for the love of Allah 2. Obey Allah and the messenger of Allah 3. We need to believe and do righteous good deeds 4

4. Spread the salaam Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "By Him in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst yourselves." [Muslim]. Sunnah.com reference : Book 6, Hadith 4 Arabic/English book reference : Book 6, Hadith 848 5
