Mt. Zion Church of Ontario South Campus Statement to Read before Leading Responsive Reading Acts 2:41-47 (NASB) Good Morning! Our theme for 2018 is Living for God-Sized Results! Join me in reading the refreshing teaching from Jesus, regarding living for God-sized results. Minister 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. Congregation 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Minister 43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. Congregation 44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; Minister 45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Everyone 46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. 3

A GOOD SERVANT 2 Timothy 2:1-7 Pastor Kelvin Aikens A-4 (Our Identity) Attract with Love Attract the unchurched with the love of Christ (John 13:34-35). Arm with the Truth We are to Arm the unchurch with the Truth of God s Word (John 8:31-32, 17:17). Affirm with Faith We are to Affirm them in their Faith in Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 1:24; Gal. 4:14). Animate with Hope Once they are Affirmed in the Faith, they will become enthusiastically hopeful realizing the Word of God is true and their salvation is sure (1 Pet 1:3, 3:15). Key Statement: As soldiers in the army of the Lord, regardless of the troubles that come our way, each of us are to do our part and work to please Him. 1. We are to be strengthened by the grace received from Jesus Christ (vs 1). 2. We are to share what we ve learned (vs 2). a. To faithful men b. To men able to teach others 3. We are to be willing to endure the struggles of a good soldier (vs 3). 4. As faithful soldiers, we are to be set apart for the service of our Lord (vs 3). 5. As faithful soldiers, we must not get distracted with worldly affairs (vs 3). 6. In the same way athletes obey the rules to win an event, we are to obey our Lord (vs 4). Personal : Father, thank You for the grace You bestowed upon me. Allow me to share what I have learned from You with others and Lord identify to me those who You would have me to share it with. I realize I am in the midst of a war, so allow me to be a faithful soldier in Your army. Not just a good soldier or infantry foot soldier, but an exceptional soldier, set apart from all others. Allow me to be a sanctifier, helping to transform people into what they ought to be. Allow me to stay focused on obeying You and serving You only. I live to love and to serve You in all that I do. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen. 8
