FROM THE PASTOR S DESK... My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Recent days have brought to the surface the horrible events that occurred in Pennsylvania. As the People of God we must continue to pray for those who have been so harmed and also for healing within the Church. Both Pope Francis and Bishop Perez have asked us to pray and do penance in reparation for these sins. The Holy Father suggested mediations on the Stations of the Cross written in 2005 by the then Cardinal Ratzinger. Bishop Perez has asked us to pray before the Blessed Sacrament praying that all survivors of sexual abuse find healing, comfort and strength in God s loving presence as the Church pledges to continue to restore trust through accompaniment, communion, accountability and justice. To that end, may I invite you to a time of prayer here at the parish this Sunday, August 26, beginning at 3 o clock (the Hour of Mercy) in the church. We will make the Way of the Cross, which will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Benediction. Please try to attend. May God s blessings be yours this week. Fr. Ireland Sunday: Bishop Emeritus Anthony M. Pilla Joseph McCarron (Borromeo) and Eric Lee (Dominicans) Monday: Rev. Thomas Woost and Rev.
