July/August 2018 First Lutheran Church Summer Worship Sun. 9:30 am Listen on the radio 1020am or FM 97.7 www.channel 977.com 402 South Court Street Fergus Falls, MN 56537 Phone: 218-739-3348 www.firstlutheranchurchff.org Good day to you new family of faith at First Lutheran, Fergus Falls! I am filled with gratitude and eagerness as we begin our time in ministry together as God s people. There are moments in our lives that can change our destiny. These are moments when we have the opportunity to trust God with the unfolding of our lives. When I was invited to interview with your call committee I immediately went to God in prayer and began the journey of discernment. From that moment, I have felt the Holy Spirit s leading us to be together in ministry. I have found the following to be a noteworthy Bible verse in times of discernment: Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:7-9, NLT Joshua demonstrated a bold obedience to God s commands in order to ensure success. It is my prayer that I too may humbly demonstrate a bold obedience as I have been called to lead and serve among you. I give you my word that I will ask God for what it takes to place God s Will at the center of my thinking so that my actions may be infused by the Holy Spirit. My greatest life s blessing, for today, is YOU-the good people of First Lutheran! To the congregation and staff of First Lutheran- Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gift of money. I was truly surprised and appreciative of it. I have truly enjoyed this job and the people I have gotten to know.
