Boys and girls must have looked at the walls of water in wonder. Pharaoh s army with heavy chariots and mighty war horses soon followed them. They drove right into the seabed where the people of Israel had walked. Then God made their chariot wheels to come off. Horses could not run fast. The whole army was caught in the Red Sea when God made the water come together again. All the people of Israel saw what the Lord did to the Egyptians. The people felt reverence, wonder and awe for the Lord. They believed Him and His servant Moses. Music at the Red Sea Exodus 15:1-21 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang praises to the Lord. It praised God for the wonderful way God delivered His people from the enemy. Then Miriam, Moses sister, took a timbrel in her hand and began praising God. (A timbrel is like a tambourine.) Other women with timbrels joined Miriam in a victory celebration to worship the Lord. Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea (Ex. 15:21). 3
