November 12 When God-Fearin' People Get the Blues 1 Kings 19.1-16 Reinhardt University Choir leading in Worship Please Vote! The Communion Table Flowers Flowers given in honor of Staff Appreciation The FBCJ Youth Group s scarecrow is across the street from 61 on Main Street in downtown Jasper (just up the street from the church). The youth designed and decorated the scarecrow based off the movie Despicable Me because the character of Gru is despicable and mean but redeemed by the love of three orphan girls. Someone s life was changed for the better by the nonjudgmental love of those that had been cast away. What a great lesson for our youth! You can vote on the scarecrow by liking the scarecrow s picture on the KnowPickens FaceBook page. Voting ends Monday, October 30th so don t delay! http://www.knowpickens.com/photos/2017/boowhoscarecrow/ Jessica Rasco needs 2-3 volunteers to help with the slides during the 9:00 am service. No experience necessary! jessicarasco@outlook.com
An Invitation First Baptist Church extends to all an invitation to membership. If you are looking for a community of faith where you can seek God, follow Jesus, and serve the needs of the world, we would gladly welcome you in this place. If you would like to commit your life to the way of Jesus and live as the beloved, forgiven child of God you are, and be baptized, we invite you to come forward during the Hymn of Response and share that decision with the pastor. You may also unite with our church by moving your membership from another community of faith. If you have any questions about FBC or what it means to follow Christ, the pastor would be glad to speak with you at any time. Welcome to First Baptist Jasper!
