In 1Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV), we read, "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." As we come together in corporate worship, please join us at The Ontario Prayer Breakfast on June 3rd 7am-9am at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto. Tickets are $60 each. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Kent Brantly - a medical missionary and recent survivor of the world's most deadly Ebola virus in West Africa. Greg Sykes is our musical guest. For more info please visit www.ontarioprayerbreakfast.ca THE CHURCH IN THE DALE You may have read about The Dale Ministries in The Toronto Star or CBM's Mosaic. Since 2012 The Dale has been "a church without walls" that serves a hundred or so marginalized people in Parkdale. "We believe... praying together, picking each other up when we inevitably fall down, sharing meals and celebrating," says Erinn Oxford, the pastor and director. The Afternoon Mission Fellowship invites to you meet Erinn over lunch on Thursday, June 6, at 12:30 in the Friendship Room. Bring a sandwich. 7
Wow! You have given to the Squeaky Clean CHILDREN S MISSION PROJECT 2015 We thank you for providing hygiene kits for refugee families in Lebanon We are delighted to report that to date you have given enough funds to distribute hygiene kits to 388 families to encourage them. These gifts will help with family hygiene and be a tangible way that we can share God s love. May 24th marked the close of the mission project. If you have forgotten to bring your gift, please give the funds today so they can be sent to Lebanon to purchase the kits. CHILDREN S MINISTRIES What s Up in Children s Ministries Each week in this space we will let you know what our kids are learning so you can pray for them and encourage them! First Look (Preschool and Kindergarten) The monthly theme for May is I can help others. and the memory verse is: Be kind and loving to each other. Ephesians 4:32, NCV. This week the children will review all of the Bible stories about helpers that they covered this month. 252Basics (Grades 1 to 5) The monthly theme is Honesty - Choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do. The memory verse is, Keep me from cheating and telling lies. Be kind and teach me your law. (Psalm 119:29 NIrV) This week s lesson is about the well-known verse from 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The bottom line we would like children to realize is that being truthful with God keeps you close to Him. Looking ahead: We will be having our summer kids camps at the church from July 20 to 24. There are six spots left in the morning Bible camp G-Force. Registration forms are available on the website or from Miriam. The afternoon art camp is now full. If you have questions about Children s Ministries speak to Miriam Little 416-922-1361.
