SABBATH Part Seven: FULFILLED, WHAT COMMANDMENTS TO KEEP ONCE WE ARE SAVED WE DON T SIN ANYMORE / ONCE WE ARE SAVED WE ARE ABLE TO KEEP THE 10 COMMANDMENTS ---THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! People are claiming to be saved by Jesus and then trying to live under the law, saying that the commandments can be kept because they have Holy Spirit inside of them. Romans chapter 7 Paul gives us some examples about being under the law and then compares it to being free through faith in Christ. He goes on to talk about the war within his body of his flesh against his spirit. No, we can t just automatically be perfect because we now have Holy Spirit inside of us. Jesus told Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane to pray not to enter into temptation because the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. We are free from the law of sin and death but we still wrestle against sin, against the flesh as long as we are on this earth this battle will continue. Being born again we do not desire to live in sin. When we sin Holy Spirit convicts our hearts and we are sorry for our sin and repent. Page 1 of 14

Gal. 5:17-18 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. For those that think we don t sin anymore because of being saved and having Holy Spirit inside of us: 1 John 1:5-10 This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth (original language is continuing present tense continually cleansing us now and continually) us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us. I have met a person that told me he doesn t sin anymore. My spirit did not bear witness with this. If you ever meet someone saying this, they are interpreting their Bibles incorrectly. A Christian has been delivered from sin and we are now living by His Spirit, this means we don t love sin and we don t stay in sin. When we sin the Holy Spirit convicts us of it, He makes us feel bad about it and we ask forgiveness and repent of the sin. No one will ever be perfected so as to not sin on this earth. We won t be perfected until we go to be with Jesus. JESUS IS LORD OF THE SABBATH / SABBATH MADE FOR MAN Page 2 of 14

Mark 2:27-28 - And He said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath. *Remember God wanted the Israelites to remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy, to delight themselves in Him and do His pleasure on that day. Today, we delight ourselves in Jesus and worship Him and follow Him daily.* FULFILLED Acts 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew Him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning Him. The OT prophecies about them crucifying Jesus and rejecting Him they made all of it come to pass when they did not recognize Jesus. They had religion but no intimacy with God. You only fulfill something once, and then it is done, complete, executed. Jesus fulfilled the law all of it. It is Finished. Jesus dealt with the first four commandments here: Matthew 22:37-38 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. He dealt with the fifth through the tenth here: Matthew 22:39-40 - And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Page 3 of 14

Matthew 5:17-20 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle (like the dot of an i and the cross of a t) shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. V. 20 The Pharisees were rule keepers but were not obeying God. The way to show love to God is by obeying and fearing Him. They were on their way to hell. (Matt.23:13) In order for your righteousness to exceed theirs, you want to be sure you are not a rule keeper, having a hardened heart being a religious person and no intimacy with Jesus Christ. You don t want to be like them. Page 4 of 14

Matt.15:1-10 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free.(it is fine, it was not considered an offense or problem to them because the temple was profited by their gift/money.) Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias ( M.E. - Isaiah) prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Matt.5 V. 22 murder is now the physical act as well as the mental one:having anger without a cause. While we are talking about the law, remember the Pharisees and Sadducees were rule keepers, making up their own rules and forsaking God s commandments. They had hate in their hearts and were jealous of Jesus, they wanted Him out of the way and they did not stop until they saw Him crucified. They were committing murder in their hearts. Matt.5 V. 27-28 now adultery is the physical act as well as just looking with lust in your heart. Page 5 of 14

Jesus was teaching the Israelites and speaking only to them. He came to them and not to anyone else at this time. The new covenant would not be in effect until after His death. So at this time, they had to keep the commandments still and that is why He said not to teach anyone to break them. Matt.5 V. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle (dot of the i or cross of the t) shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Cross reference that to: Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, then one tittle of the law to fail. (the jot and tittle are like the dotting of the i and the crossing of the t) *For heaven and earth to pass away would be a major event, a massive world wide catastrophe. He is saying it would be easier for that to happen than for one little detail of the law to be done away with. Nothing was going to pass from that law until all was FULFILLED JESUS FULFILLED the LAW.* Definition of FULFILLED: Accomplished; performed; completed; executed. Definition of FULFILLER: One that fulfills or accomplishes (Jesus Christ). Eph. 2:15-16 Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain (Israelites & Gentiles (nations)) one new man, so making peace; And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body (church body of Christ) by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: *The 10 commandments and the 613 ordinances were not separate. They went together. When the 10 commandments were fulfilled so were the 613 ordinances. The ordinances explained how to keep the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments and the 613 ordinances were FULFILLED by Christ.* II Cor.5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (creation): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Page 6 of 14

Gal.2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal.3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 1 Tim.1:9-11 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. **It is important to note that you see the Sabbath mentioned throughout the gospels and then in Acts it is still mentioned because the church was transitioning from the law to grace. So the Jews still met on the Sabbaths and so Paul would go into their synagogues and teach on the Sabbaths. After the book of Acts you only see Sabbath mentioned in Colossians 2:16. The Sabbath is mentioned all through the gospels (Matt., Mark, Luke & John) because while Jesus was still alive the law still had to be kept. He was the game changer. He leveled the playing field. At the time He walked the earth He taught and kept Page 7 of 14

the law because it was still in effect. But after His death and then His resurrection you see the Sabbath still mentioned in the time of Acts because it was a time of transition for the church. The Israelites had kept the law and kept Sabbath (not perfectly of course) and so many did not understand the finished work of Christ and they still went in the synagogues and were still keeping the law. This is what Paul and the other disciples were up against. Some were dug in not wanting to forsake the law, not having a tender heart and not truly belonging to the Father or to Jesus Christ. But as faith and freedom through Christ began to spread we see that after the book of Acts the Sabbath was only mentioned once more in the New Testament. It is mentioned in Col.2:16 by Paul speaking to the Colossians and warning them not to be pressured or judged by the Jews who were still trying to keep the law. They were causing problems for Paul and the other apostles ministries because they still wanted to keep the law and were opposing the liberty Jesus died to bring in. Paul said not to let anyone try to make you keep the new moons, the Sabbaths or the holy days. MILLENIAL REIGN SABBATHS WILL BE KEPT AGAIN During the millennial reign the Sabbath s will be kept and sacrifices will be offered. It will be a time like back in the Old Testament for all of those who were not saved in the church age which is the time of grace. Jesus will be here on this earth but they cannot just freely receive Him then like we can now. They must show their obedience physically (outwardly) as well as spiritually in the heart (inwardly). They will bring sacrifices to the temple and honor Jesus. There will be sin on the earth but it will be dealt with quickly. Those that survive the tribulation and did not take the mark of the beast will go in to the millennial reign. Those beheaded during the tribulation will reign and rule with Christ during this time. Page 8 of 14

This is a picture of the Millenial Reign, a time of peace, where the lion, the king of the jungle will lay down in peace with his prey. Just a note for those of you who know your KJ Bibles, the Bible no longer says the Lion will lay down with the lamb the Mandela Effect has changed it to the wolf shall dwell with the lamb. (Isaiah 11:6) God is talking to Israel in the following passage: Isaiah 66:22-24 - For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against Me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. Even the nations will be made to come and worship before the LORD on the Sabbaths. This is a time of restoration for the nation of Israel. THIS SOUNDS LIKE WE ARE TO KEEP THE TEN COMMANDMENTS 1 John 2:6-8,15-17 He that saith He abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He (Christ) walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because Page 9 of 14

the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. John says they have had this commandment from the beginning and it was the Word they had heard. Seems as though this is 10 commandments as in THE beginning / but there was also a BEGINNING with Christ here in the flesh and what He taught as well as the BEGINNING of the NEW COVENANT which could not happen until after Jesus death. Jesus Christ is the Living Word. In verse 8 he says he will write them a new commandment and he is talking about not being under the law (darkness) but in the light which is faith in Jesus Christ. Then He further breaks down what he s talking about in verse 16 & 17, not to love the world, but to do the will of God. It all comes down to LOVE. God is love. They had heard the prophecies of how a Savior would come and take the sins of the world away. How God would show His mercy to them. So when he says he isn t writing a new commandment, yet he is writing a new commandment, they had now a better understanding of God s love and faith in Jesus Christ and how to love their neighbor and to please God. It seemed new because now the law was completely passed and they were living in freedom by faith. Luke 1:1-3 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration (writing it all down) of those things which are most surely believed among us, Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the Word; It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, Page 10 of 14

Heb. 2:3 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began (or from the beginning) to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him; 2 Peter 1:16 - For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. So looking at Scripture we can see that when John mentioned from the beginning he was talking about when Jesus ministry began on this earth. He was NOT talking about keeping the 10 commandments. 1 John 3:22-23 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment. And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us. *Here John clearly goes on and shows what COMMANDMENT we are to keep.* We are free from the law! IF NOT THE 10 COMMANDMENTS THEN WHAT COMMANDS ARE WE TO KEEP / HERE ARE SOME: I was talking to Scott this morning at breakfast and had mentioned something about that we were free from the law. He said, You mean we don t just glide on grace? Boy did he ever speak truth there. So many people do not understand what it means to be free from the law. Then there are those that believe we are free to just sin and not feel guilty about anything. The tv witches preach God is love. They do not follow up with the fact that we are expected to obey and that is Page 11 of 14

how we show love to God. That is a superficial gospel message when you just say to someone God loves you. That doesn t help them in the long run. Once they are past the problem or whatever they were going through, more than just words of comfort, they need to know how to walk obediently. That is not being taught in most churches today. If you sin and don t feel bad about it, you are not saved because Holy Spirit chastens/convicts you of your sin. Salvation is where it all starts, being born again (John 3:7). Then usually next is to be baptized in water (Great Commission Matt.28:19-20) as well as being baptized into Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13). Being baptized into Holy Spirit is different from what happens upon salvation. At salvation you receive an impartation of Holy Spirit, but you then want to seek the full baptism into Holy Spirit so that the gifts the Holy Spirit has for you will be given as well as the fruits of the Spirit can then begin to grow in your life. Matt. 12:50 - For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matt. 4:17 (After John the Baptist was imprisoned) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. You must R E P E N T!!! Jesus is still preaching repentance to the churches in Revelation the first few chapters. Repentance is preached throughout the book of Revelation. All the way to the end God is still asking people to repent. To repent is to realize that you are sinning against God, agree with Him that what you are doing is sin. Stop the sin, and turn from it and go in the direction of Jesus Christ. If you are stuck in addictions, bad habits, not seeing victory from a certain sin, break off generational curses. The sins of our forefathers are placed on us to the 3 rd and 4 th generation. Break all of that off and seek deliverance. You cannot be delivered by someone who isn t saved themselves, someone who doesn t live an obedient Christian life, someone who doesn t read and study the Word of God. It must be a true Christian or you will not truly get free. Lift all of your worries and cares and problems and continual sin up to the Lord and let Him know you know His Word and you are standing on it. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Jesus Christ died to make you free! Page 12 of 14

Matt.5:39 - But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. Matthew Henry Commentary 5:38-42 The plain instruction is, Suffer any injury that can be borne, for the sake of peace, committing your concerns to the Lord's keeping. And the sum of all is, that Christians must avoid disputing and striving. If any say, Flesh and blood cannot pass by such an affront, let them remember, that flesh and blood shall not inherit the kingdom of God; and those who act upon right principles will have most peace and comfort. Are you a Christian that always walks in the flesh? Someone slaps you on the cheek and you slap them back? Someone smarts off to you so you smart back? You just can t let anything go and you have to get even or get revenge? If you walk in the flesh always remember flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. You should be walking in and led by the Spirit of God. We are to be peaceful and walk in peace as much as possible with all men. CLOSING John 13:34-35 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 14:15-24 - If ye love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth Page 13 of 14

me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. PRAYER Thank You for Jesus Christ, the Hope of the Word and for Your Holy Spirit Who leads and guides us. You are the KING of all the earth and You are GREATLY EXALTED. Psalm 50:5,23 We are Your saints and are gathered to You in the Spirit, we have made a covenant with You by sacrifice. We have lifted up Jesus Christ, as our spotless Lamb, Who takes all our sins away. We offer praise to glorify You: to us who have ordered our lives aright You have shown Your Salvation to us in Jesus Christ.
