Join Austin Farinholt and Sister Maria Frassti after all of the Masses the weekend of December 3 rd and 4 th in the Gathering Room to learn about making a gift through the tax credit program (EISTC). This program was implemented by the state of VA a few years ago to encourage more students to attend private school because it saves the state money they would otherwise have to spend on students attending public school. The Nursery is offered during the 10:00 a.m. Mass for children ages 1-3 years old. Children The nurturing staff and volunteers provide a safe, Christian environment for the children in their care. Parents who utilize the nursery are asked to volunteer about one Sunday per month to keep our Co-Op Nursery staffed each Sunday. Kingdom Kids Worship (1 st -5 th Grades) Kingdom Kids Worship provides a liturgical adaptation of the Sunday readings for children in 1 st -5 th grade. The Children Celebrate! Liturgy of the Word with Children program from Pflaum Publishing Group guides the parish catechists proclamation of the Gospel. Gathered By Grace December 4, Gathered By Grace: Advent-Room at the Inn Advent is the time of year, more than any other, that we come to appreciate something of the Bible s sense of the sacredness of hospitality, of welcoming others. We need help before and after the Mass that you usually attend. Tasks include: standing at a table and filling out a sales ticket. Please call: Ms. Tina @ 595-0385 ext. 118 or twandersee@olmc.org Fair Trade Expo OLMC will hold a Fair Trade Expo on the weekend of Dec. 3rd/4th in the Commons of the Church. We will be selling items from countries like: Israel, Mexico, Swaziland, Indonesia, etc. and we will have many items such as: scarves, jewelry, baskets, coffee/chocolate, nativity sets and much, much more. Please plan to make some of your Christmas purchases with us. We will be accepting cash and check only! Angel Tags, Christmas Trees and Stars Please continue to pick up an angel tag for one of the families on our Christmas list. We need all tags picked up and returned with a gift by Dec. 13 th. The Christmas Tree Tags are for the Seniors on our Christmas list and the Stars are gifts for Pregnancy Outreach. The Stars do not need to be wrapped. Partnership with the NNPD This year OLMC is partnering with the NNPD for our Family Christmas Giving. The NNPD presented us with the names and needs/wants of some families in need in the city. We are providing the gifts and for the needs of the family and the NNPD are delivering the items to the families. They have about 6 cars making deliveries and they have asked for 6 people from our parish to accompany those cars on delivery day. They will be delivering on Friday, December 16th @ 8am. Mass Coordinators assist behind the scenes in making sure the Liturgy flows smoothly. Their oversight ensures that the Worship Center and the ministers are prepared for the celebration. Training occurs through the shadowing of experienced Mass Coordinators as they go about their ministry. Mass Coordinators can expect to serve about once a month.
