The Inglewood's My father always played the accordion while we ate a big dinner. The neighbors would come over and we d all sing and dance. We always bought him a gift for Father s Day, he liked neck ties and short sleeved shirts. He owned a thresher and would go around and help the neighbors in their fields. My mom always complained that he never charged them money for gas. He would tell her, I never do because I know they d do the same for me. ~Evelyn, Resident We had two kids, one boy and one girl. My husband s name was Tom and I named our son Tom after his father, so we called him Tommy. Once I told him (Tom) to keep an eye on Tommy while they went outside, I went outside a half hour later and asked Tom where Tommy was. He said he didn t know. We found him playing in a mud puddle that came up to his waist. From then on Tom always made sure he knew where Tommy was. Tom and Tommy did lots of outings together, such as fishing and camping. Tom served as Tommy s scout leader and helped him earn his Eagle Scout badge. ~Audrey, Resident When we were younger we would ask our dad to stand on his head so that the loose change would fall out of his pockets. We would always steal a couple cents. He served in WWl which was tough because there were members of his family fighting on the opposing side. ~Jean & Darlene, Residents DON T FORGET: Please send your email address for Powell Valley updates and current news to marketing@powellvalley.net
