GRADE: FIRST GLORY BE: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. HAIL MARY: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at hour of our death. Amen. GRADE: SECOND LORD S PRAYER: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. ACT OF CONTRITION: My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Amen. STEPS TO PRIVATE CONFESSION: I examine my conscience to see if I have been living the way Jesus wants. I make the sign of the cross while saying, Bless me father for I have sinned. It has been since my last confession. I tell father my sins. Father absolves me of my sins and blesses me. I say, Amen.
GRADE: THIRD PENITENTIAL RITE: After the greeting by the priest at Mass, he invites the people gathered for Mass to take part in the Penitential Rite. This is a general confession made by the entire assembly and ends with the priest s absolution, I. e., forgiveness of sins. I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. GLORIA: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. GRADE: FOURTH PROFESSION OF FAITH: This prayer helps the people at Mass to recall teachings of the faith before they begin to celebrate the Eucharist. I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, At the words that follow up to and including and became man, all bow. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
GRADE: FIFTH ROSARY: The rosary is a devotional prayer of the lives of Mary and Jesus. You need to be able to recite the various prayers that are said while praying the rosary. On the crucifix, you say the Creed. On the large bead, you say the Our Father, followed by three Hail Mary s and the Glory Be. The rest of the rosary is divided into five clusters of ten beads called decades. For each decade, say the Our Father once, the Hail Mary ten times, and the Glory Be once. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: 1. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of slavery. Worship no God except Me. 2. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. 3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day. 4. Honor your father and mother. 5. You shall not kill. 6. You shall not commit adultery. 7. You shall not steal. 8. You shall not tell lies against your neighbor. 9. You shall not want to take your neighbor s wife or husband. 10. You shall not want to take your neighbor s possessions. GRADE: SIXTH SACRAMENTS: Sacrament means a signpost pointing to the Holy One. When a sacrament truly points to God, it can lead us to God, and bring him closer to us. No one has brought God closer to people than Jesus. 1. BAPTISM: The sacrament of rebirth, where we go under water to share Jesus death, and come out from it to begin new life. We are now members of God s family, the church. 2. CONFIRMATION: When we confirm our baptism by promising to live as Jesus did, in his spirit. We ask the bishop for confirmation. 3. RECONCILIATION: Reconciliation means coming together again. When we confess the wrong things we ve done, and are sorry for them, we are forgiven by God and his church. 4. HOLY ORDERS: Sacrament of commitment or vocations. It is the special calling to share in the ministry of Jesus Christ. 5. ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Sacrament of healing which gives great comfort to people who are seriously ill. 6. EUCHARIST: The word Eucharist means giving thanks. When bread is broken and wine is poured, we are reminded of Jesus bloody, broken body which is given up for us. When we receive the Eucharist we are reunited with the church and Jesus body, and we are forgiven. 7. MATRIMONY: Matrimony joins a man and woman together as husband and wife in union with Jesus Christ.
GRADE: SEVENTH BEATITUDES: In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus spoke of the promised reward of those who suffer for the sake of the kingdom. The beatitudes, as they are called, promise freedom of spirit to those who live Jesus way. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the land. Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice, for they shall have their fill. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. GRADE: EIGHTH ACTS OF FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE: These statements are not just a recognition of the truth of Christianity, but also an act of submission of both mind and heart to God and to his church. Saying these words is a deliberate expression of your love of God. Act of Faith: My Lord and my God. Act of Hope: I trust in the Lord; my soul trusts in his word. Act of Love: Lord, you know everything. You know well that I love you.
