Matthew 28:19 Jesus sent his disciples into the world on a mission his mission. Jesus life and love had changed their lives forever. Now, they would share his life-transforming message with others. 1. Jesus had talked with the disciples about his mission before. Read, for example, Matthew 5:14 16. Whom has God used as a light in your life? How might God shine his light through you on this trip? What is the goal of being God s light in the world (5:16)? 2. Study Psalm 65:1 3; Isaiah 43:1 3; and Zephaniah 3:16 17. How do they
empower and encourage you as you prepare for your upcoming mission? Name Request 3. What other verses and truths has God used to encourage and empower you? (For example, John 14:25 27; John 15:16; 1 John 3:1; Philippians 4:5 7, 13; 2 Timothy 3:16 17.) 4. Your mission is a co-mission. God is calling a mission team. He wants to bless all of you through one another. God himself sends your team, empowers your team, and goes with your team. Now, work as a team to list specific praises, thanks, and the team s needs for your trip. Put those here. How does euteronomy 31:6 express this truth? How do Romans 12:1 21 and 1 John 1:5 10 encourage and help you in dealing with others on the team? Beginning with Prayer... Talk with each person on your mission team and write down specific prayer requests. When you have completed the lists, use them as you pray together. Begin by reading Psalm 100. Then let the specific praise, thanks, and intercession suggestions you wrote down guide you. Close by singing one or two songs or hymns the group finds especially meaningful. 4 5
God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 We are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 6 7
In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 [Jesus said,] Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 8 Matthew 7:7 8 9

Let your Gospel of forgiveness bring faith and hope. In Jesus name. Amen. I see God at work... 10 Additional Reading: Psalm 19:14; 1 Corinthians 1:18 31 My word... shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
