From the desk of Santosh Jain Dear Friends, Jai Jinendra! Hope this communiqué finds you in good state of health, mind and spirit. I am very happy to share with you the recently found news that yoga, meditation techniques and spirituality is bringing equilibrium to the lives of the youth of India, driven by gadgets, cut throat competition and corporate work culture. In the fast paced world with the survival of the fittest principle ruling the competition, the youth of India face stiff professional and academic competition along with peer pressure on lifestyle issues, which cause them enormous stress. The advent of the corporate work culture, target and deadline chasing hikes the stress level and many young people, despite these adverse situations, are able to keep their focus and motivation intact, thanks to the surge of spirituality among a large section of the Indian youth. We have seen that nearly a decade ago, gatherings for bhajans and other religious discourses were usually a meeting point for retirees only, and meditation was only practiced by the senior members of the family. But the Indian youth is now vying to share the same space. The paths may differ, but as recent studies and research show, the conversations in office corridors of multinational corporations, recreation rooms, college canteens are generously peppered with phrases such as inner strength, self discovery and spiritual enlightenment. These are no aberrations. The youngsters, sporting the latest gadgets can be seen queued up outside the temples for a mere glimpse inside and show their respect. More youth are competing with the senior members of the society in pilgrimage to farthest destinations, and many professionals are taking a short term spiritual retreat during the peak of their career to regain focus, understand their inner self, strengthen their relations and rejuvenate their spirit. The youth are even using the social media, from Facebook, Whatsapp, etc to stay connected with spiritual groups, broadcast spiritual messages, quotations and using internet to gather more knowledge about their roots, culture, ethics and moral values. More youth are learning about spirituality from these non-traditional sources and are involving in sharing messages in their peer network. However, despite the growth in demand for better spiritual retreat places for the youth of the country, not much progress has been achieved. Siddhayatan has taken the initiative to bridge this gap and provide a divine atmosphere to the youth seeking spiritual quest. The peaceful meditation centre, stateof-the art Bhaktamar Kendra, Yoga hall and pious environment of ShriSammed Shikharji will enable youth to reflect within and at the same time, facilities such as indoor and outdoor games, gymnasium, jogging track, computer and hobby centre will allow holistic development of mind, body and soul. I seek your blessings and hope that Siddhayatan can act as a catalyst in your spiritual journey. The objective is to ensure that our platform can be best used by people of all age groups to transform their spiritual life and use the newly gained strength to advance in their lives.
