Page 2 Holy Rosary is said every Sunday morning at 8 am just before the beginning of the 8:30 Mass. Communion Service Every Tuesday at 9:00 am Except on Holy Days A Special Communion Service will be held on Monday January 18th at 9 am A NOTE FROM FATHER ANDREW Dear Parish Family, I hope you are keeping warm during this cold spell we are having. The weather seems very crazy this year, one week warm the next week cold. I guess many of us would settle for that as long as there is no snow. Welcome to all our LIFT families who are joining us this weekend. It is always good to see parents and children gather to learn more about our faith. In the bulletin next weekend you will be seeing a notice that we are beginning our search for a new music director. Linda Midura will be resettling in Indiana in the spring. Linda has been an outstanding music director for our parish. Words cannot express what Linda has meant to me personally and to our parish. Her dedication to her ministry; the choirs, cantors, musicians have been outstanding. We will truly miss her. As soon as Linda is ready with the announcement of a date I will keep the parish informed of a gathering for Linda after all the masses. I am sure that all of us want to express our thanks for all she is and for all she has done to make our music program here at Holy Eucharist truly great, inspiring and prayerful. Jesus transformed water into the very best wine served at that wedding feast in Cana. And he can do the same with our lives. Sometimes, we come to Jesus with empty jars. We feel we have nothing to offer, that our efforts have failed. But we don t need to work the miracle. We just need to do whatever he tells us. Often this may mean doing something that doesn t make sense on the surface. The servers were probably skeptical about filling the jugs with water. But they did it anyway. In our moments of emptiness, we too need to do what Jesus asks of us. We need to pray (even when we don t hear an answer). We need to participate in the sacraments (even when they don t seem to help). We need to follow the commandments (even when they strike us as difficult or irrelevant). We need to love our neighbors (even when they don t love us back). We simply need to do what Jesus asks of us and then allow him to do the rest. Only when we are willing to follow his directions can he transform our emptiness into joy. Keep warm and have a wonderful week. I will see you on the weekend! We welcome all adults, even if you don t have children in the program to join us for the Adult session immediately following Mass. We ll provide a meal and you can participate in the adult presentation. If you have children in grades 1-8 and have not yet registered for the program, please join us! Contact: Donna Remaley 609 268 7742 Page 3 T HE STORY OF Y OUR LIFE From Father Andrew: During the coming weeks I will be talking to you about The Story of Your Life in my message (homily) series. I invite you to dig deeper into your story. We will be providing a question(s) for personal reflection to help you dig deeper into your story. Below are questions to consider based on this weekend s message. Take 10 minutes get some quiet time and answer the question. Perhaps you can even dedicate a small journal to write down your thoughts. If you like you can even share your answer with family members or friends, it will make interesting discussions. If you would like to re-read this past weekend s message, visit our website beginning Monday at: http://holyeucharist.org/#/mass-times-and-calendar/homilies. Your life is a story. It s a story to be told. Make it a story worth telling. Questions for week 3 ( January 16,17 2016) 1. Jesus was not afraid to step into the mess of the wedding feast at Cana. Do you really trust that God wants you mess and all in the story He is writing? 2. Do you believe Small Group is a place to grow in relationship with God and others through my mess? How much of your mess are you willing to bring to your Small Group? 3. Do you believe God will have an extravagant response if we accept His invitation into His story? 4. Who needs your invitation to join a Small Group so that person can see their place in God s story more clearly and invite God into their story? Once Upon a Time for Children In addition to Father Andrew s message series, our Children s Word program will also be exploring a similar theme called Once Upon a Time. In this series, we will discover our God story. You may be thinking what is a God Story? Every experience we have is part of our story. These experiences can be happy, sad, frustrating and even amazing. But when we live like Jesus our story is included in God s tale. And He is there to help us around every bend. Here s some questions to share and discuss with your children: 1. What happened at the wedding at Cana? How was this a miracle? (Jesus turned water into wine!) 2. What is your family like? (Who is in it? What do you like to do together? etc.) 3. Who in your family helps you learn most about God? What do they teach you? That person is helping you write your story! 4. How is God writing 's story? Mission Thank at least one person in your family for teaching you about God. S ACRAMENT PREPARATION We welcome your family to the sacrament prep program at Holy Eucharist family! The preparation program for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation provide opportunities for spiritual growth for both parents and children. We understand it is a privilege to witness our faith to our children and that parents should be directly involved in their child s faith formation. In addition to attending our Family Faith Formation program, LIFT, preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation involves family-centered instruction. Parents and children come together several times during the course of the preparation for faith sharing activities, prayer, and spiritual enhancement. Below are important upcoming sessions.
