Welcome to the Pease Christian Reformed Church! As we come from Thanksgiving and into Advent we give thanks for the anticipated Christ-Child this morning as Pastor Michael will begin our Advent Series entitled, The Jesse Tree. We will be using I Samuel 16 as our text. We also have the privilege to witness and participate in the baptism of Emma Violet Wilmes, the daughter of Tim and Melissa Wilmes. For we know and believe, that God s promises are for us and our children! Pastor Michael will be offering a Profession of Faith/New Members Class in the near future probably early in 2017. If you, or someone you know would be interested in participating in those classes, please contact the church office. Thank you. Thank you for your gifts offered last week, November 20. The General Fund total was $6,467.71 and the offering for Gideons International was $1,080. Your offerings for December 2016 will be received as follows: December 4- Community Christian School; December 11-Benevolent Fund; December 18- Youth Group; December 25 Guatemala Action Project (GAP). Our Church Family Congratulations to Joyce Reiman who will observe her 90th birthday on Saturday, December 3 and the Ed & Dorothy Hanenburg who will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary on Thursday, December 3. Kelli Snell has been scheduled for surgery on December 7 th at the Mayo Clinic to remove her cancer. Please pray for her as she anticipates this procedure. Adam Stout is having major back surgery at Abbot Northwestern Hospital on Wednesday, November 30. He will be in the hospital at least three days. Joanne Ruis was moved to Bethany Rehab on Tuesday. Her address is: Good Samaritan Society - Bethany, 804 Wright St., Brained, MN 56401 (218) 829-1407. She will be there a couple of weeks and loves to get mail.

Thank you to everyone who rang the bells for the Salvation Army yesterday! Thank you for the extremely generous cash donation given to the Operation Community Connect event. Your support of this wonderful event is much appreciated. The OCC Team Men s Timeout will be next week Saturday, December 3 rd at 8:00. All men and boys are welcome for breakfast and conversation! Couple s Club Bible Study will meet next week Sunday, December 4 th at 4:30 in the Fireside Room. An assortment of greeting cards with Scripture verse is now available at the church near the Ladies' Room. Christmas cards, Get Well, Birthday, Sympathy, Graduation, Anniversary and All Occasion cards are available with all proceeds supporting our own Mission Society. Stop by soon for the best selection! A HUGE thank you to our faithful Ushers and Greeters. Your participation each Sunday is a vital ministry and outreach of the Pease CRC. Your welcoming smile and greeting help to create a warm impression. Greeters usually greet once or twice every six months and ushers, who seat our guests and members, are typically on the schedule for two weeks every quarter. If you would like to be a part of these essential ministries, please contact Carol Smith 508.685.4208 or carol4j@hotmail.com. Christmas Choir Members Old and New! This year we are doing one song and it s one we ve done before. We have three rehearsal to pull it together. No problem. We ll start next Sunday, December 4 th after church. See you there! Helping Hands: There are mittens on the Christmas tree in the narthex by the west door. These mittens have information about a child who needs our help to have a hope-filled Christmas. Please take a tag (or two!) and buy a gift that fits the ages and sizes of the child listed. (Gift ideas are also included on the tag.) Bring it back to church, unwrapped, with the mitten attached by December 11 (Wrapping paper or gift bags are also appreciated.) Thank you for spreading a little Christmas hope to a local family in need! Contact Trudy with any questions.

Need some help with your holiday baking? Well, have now fear - the GEMS are here. The GEMS will be holding their 3rd annual bake sale on Sunday, December 4, immediately after the morning worship service. Tables filled with delicious homemade treats (made by the GEMS themselves) will be set up in both entryways for your free will donation. Wouldn't you love a beautiful way to display your Jesse Tree ornaments during the month of December? The Gems have made some unique wood pallet "trees" that you can purchase for $10. These "trees" also make a great display for Christmas cards. There will be a limited number of these trees available at the GEMS bake sale on Dec. 4, but we are asking for pre-orders so we can be sure to have enough. If you would like to purchase one of these displays, please add your name to the signup sheets located on the coffee carts. Cheer Baskets will be assembled and delivered at 6:00 p.m. on December 14. This yearly ministry to our nursing home and assisted living residents, as well as elderly members of our church family, is a great way for our congregation to show love and encouragement during the Christmas season. Sign-up sheet for fruit, goodies, and if you are able to assemble and deliver, on the bulletin board by the west door. This ministry is sponsored by our youth groups, so please come and support them in their outreach to our congregation! Cheer Basket Cards: We will also be delivering Christmas cards with the cheer baskets. If you would like to write out cards for those receiving the cheer baskets, the names are listed below. Please have them back to church by 6:00 p.m. Sunday the 14 th of December with their names clearly marked on the front of the envelope. Please help spread the joy of Christmas!
