#182 For the Beauty of the Earth Give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds. -- Psalm 107:8 For the beauty of the earth, For the glory of the skies, For the love which from our birth Over and around us lies, For the wonder of each hour Of the day and of the night, Hill and vale, and tree and flower, Sun and moon, and stars of light, For the joy of human love, Brother, sister, parent, child, Friends on earth, and friends above, For all gentle thoughts and mild, Text: Folliott S. Pierpont (altered); Music: Conrad Kocher, arr by William H. Monk In the Public Domain # 493 Glory To His Name Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. --Hebrews 9:22 Down at the cross where my Savior died, Down here for cleansing from sin I cried, There to my heart was the blood applied. I am so wondrously saved from sin; Jesus so sweetly abides within. There at the cross where He took me in! O precious fountain that saves from sin! I am so glad I have entered in! There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean. Come to this fountain so rich and sweet; Cast Thy poor soul at the Savior's feet; Plunge in today and be made complete. Text: Elisha A. Hoffman, Music: John H. Stockton; In the Public Domain

Acts 4:1-13 New International Version (NIV) The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand. The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest s family. They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: By what power or what name did you do this? Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is #487 Room at the Cross for You There is still room. --Luke 14:22 The cross upon which Jesus died Is a shelter in which we can hide; And its grace so free is sufficient for me, And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea. Refrain Tho millions have found Him a friend And have turned from the sins they have sinned, The Savior still waits to open the gates And welcome a sinner before it s too late. Refrain The hand of my Savior is strong, And the love of my Savior is long; Through sunshine or rain, through loss or in gain, The blood flows from Cal-v ry to cleanse every stain. Refrain Refrain: There s room at the cross for you; There s room at the cross for you. Tho millions have come, There s still room for one. Yes, there s room at the cross for you. Text & Music: Ira F. Stanphill Copyright 1946 by Singspiration Music; CCLI licence #563168 the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. May the Lord bless this reading of His Holy Word: And to His name be honor and glory. Amen!
