Along with the support of our Stephen Ministers, we will offer a Blue Christmas Worship Service on Sunday, Dec 4th at 5pm in the Sanctuary. This is a service designed for those suffering with sadness, loss, or grief during the Advent and Christmas season. There will be candles, music, prayers for healing and readings from Scripture to create a sacred and welcoming space. In the midst of darkness, this is a service of hope and light. WEDNESDAY NIGHT POT-LUCK SUPPER: Come join your church family on December 7 for our monthly Wednesday Night Pot-Luck Supper at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The food and fellowship are great fun, so be sure to include an LUMC evening in your plans. Please remember our 15 guests from UMAR and bring extra food to share. LIVE NATIVITY: SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10 While you re driving through the community or headed to the UMM s Christmas Breakfast in the Evening, stop by the front lawn to enjoy the Catalyst Youth s portrayal of the greatest gift ever given! STAFF CHRISTMAS LOVE OFFERING: Again this year, the Staff-Parish Committee wants to give the congregation an opportunity to contribute to a love offering for the church staff of Ivan, Susan, June, Emily, Debby, and Toni. We will present this opportunity on three Sundays (Dec. 4, Dec. 11, and Dec. 18). The money collected will be divided and presented before Christmas. LEWISVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE: Come out to see the LUMC Preschool and Children s Ministry float in the Lewisville Christmas Parade on December 11 at 3 pm. If you would like to donate candy, please leave it in the candy donation box located in the preschool lobby. Stephen Ministers are trained lay care-givers who provide emotional and spiritual care to persons who are experiencing difficulties in their lives hospitalization, loss of a loved one, loss of job, or any other crisis situation. This is care in addition to the care the pastor gives.
