On Saturday, December 3, 2011, St. Jude Golf Club will be holding its Third Annual Friendship Golf Tournament at Hawaii Prince Golf Course, Ewa. Come and mix with club members and friends. We need 40 players. The annual Friendship Awards Banquet will be held at Paradise Restaurant following the golf game. Tournament players, members, players guests and families are invited to attend. GIVE ALOHA Foodland s Annual Community Matching Gifts Program It s that time of year again! The St. Jude Parish Outreach Ministry is participating in the Give Aloha program. From September 1st through the 30th, you are invited to make donations of up to a cumulative total of $249 per person to our Outreach Ministry. Foodland and the Western Union Federation will donate $325,000 in matching funds to the Give Aloha Program. Shop at any Foodland or Sack N Save on the island. At checkout, present your Maika i Card and inform the cashier that you would like to make a donation to the St. Jude Outreach Ministry. The five digit code is 77277. If you do not have a Maika i Card, you can request for one at checkout. The amount you have donated and the organization name will appear on your receipt. Donations must be made payable to Foodland or Sack N Save. Note: 1. Your name will not be released to us. So if you would like us to know of your donation, please stop by or call the parish office so we can properly acknowledge your gift. 2. Your contribution is tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Please save your receipts for tax purposes since it will be the only record you will have of your donation. 3. Visit the Foodland in Ewa and see our St. Jude Catholic Church banner! *Matching gifts are calculated after the end of the program. Organizations will receive 100% of all customer donations given to their organization, plus their % of Foodland and the Western Union Foundation s $300,000 matching gift. The portion of the matching gift that each organization will receive will be based on the total dollar amount of customer donations designated to that organization as a % of all customer donations received for all organizations. Diocesan Pastoral Council Seeks Young Adult Representative Submitted by Sharon Chiarucci, Director, Office for Parish Resources Are you interested in serving on Bishop s Diocesan Pastoral Council as the Young Adult representative? You would meet quarterly with the council members to discuss issues of concern to young adults as well as other issues Bishop may bring to the council. He wants recommendations from his council regarding pastoral issues in the diocese. Your term would begin October 2011 and end June 2015. If you are from a neighbor island, your travel and housing expenses will be paid. If you are between 19 and 35 years of age and interested in this or would like more information about the role of this Council, ask your pastor for a copy of the guidelines and an application. The guidelines are also available on the web at http://www.catholichawaii.org under Consultative Bodies.
