As your new UMW President I want to welcome all women of the church to share in the fellowship of the United Methodist Women. There are opportunities to serve, learn, and share with one another. Our monthly General meetings have a variety of programs where we learn about some of the services that are available in our community, have a chance to study a culture or an issue facing society as a whole. We share a meal after each of these meetings. Our two circles have a variety of programming as well and a chance to share in a small group once a month. In reading I Peter 4:9-11, he emphasizes that we need to cheerfully share our home and food along with the gifts/talents that God has given us to put to good use. UMW strives use our talents and resources to bring hospitality to others. In so doing God s generosity will flow through each one of us. It is my hope that in this upcoming year more women will share in the gifts/talents with the group. We do have fun and there is a strong sense of fellowship especially in the Edna Rhodes and Martha Circle groups. I hope that each one of you will take advantage of what UMW has to offer and I m looking forward to seeing you at the first General Meeting September 11 th at 10 a.m. in the church parlor. Connie Crihfield, President 1
