A Message from Pastor Joe B. Fleming Here we are celebrating again Men s Day at Third Baptist Church. It is true that I get anxious and excited during related events and activities. I don t know if the men of TBC are aware of the level of enthusiasm their pastor brings to this week of celebration. This past Monday evening, there were thirty-four men in prayer during our Men s Ministry meeting. Last week, there were thirty-two men present. Each man prayed, and it was 8:30 p.m. Can you imagine how spirit-filled we were after an hour and a half of praying by members and non-members? It was an awesome experience for me. Thanks be to God for all aspects of the celebration which include the following activities for worship, praise, and fellowship: The banquet committee for the Senior Pastor s anniversary will meet Monday, June 27 th at 6pm in the Fellowship Center. Please contact Deloris Overton Short at 966-1864, if you have any questions. Wednesday: 12:00 noon Prayer Service; 6:45 p.m. Bible Study Dea. Dr. Levy Armwood, Jr. Ebenezer Baptist Church, Richmond, VA Thanks be to God for our men and their on-going praise to God. Happy Men s Day! We are pleased to have Pastor Ferebee and Dr. Armwood as our special guests. We await a word from the Lord. Preach brothers, PREACH!

We Are Men of Faith and Charity Background Scripture - 2 Peter 1: 1-11 Key Scripture 2 Peter 1: 5-7 The Message Bible Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you your ticket to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. So don t lose a minute in building on what you ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet; no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities you can t see what s right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books. So, friends, confirm this, and you ll have your life on a firm footing, the streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ. These words tell us according to the Life Application Study Bible that many believers want an abundance of God s special favor and peace, but they are unwilling to put forth the effort to get to know Him better through Bible study and prayer. To enjoy the privileges God so freely offers to us, we must come to know Jesus our Lord, better and better. We applaud the men of Third Baptist who make a conscious effort to get to know our God on a personal level by devoting time to Him, especially each Monday night when they come together to study God s Word, to pray, to praise Him, and to help one another. Surely, God is pleased. His special anointing is upon those who allow the Holy Spirit to permeate every aspect of daily living. We do God s work when we clothe and feed the hungry; we do God s work when we work daily in a Godly manner, realizing that kingdom-work is eternal. Happy men s day; continue to grow in grace! A Message from the Assistant Pastor We Are Men of Faith and Charity 2 Peter 1:5-7 Happy Men's Day Third Baptist. We have been surrounded by men of faith from the male ushers around the wall, the male chorus leading worship, the men who officially assist our overall ministries, and our mission- minded Andrew s Brothers and Men's Ministry. They remind us of the importance of prayer, studying God's Word, faith and charity. Third Baptist, we are so blessed. Our co-chairs Brother Williams and Brother Stancil have really led us to this great day. We thank both of our brothers for providing ongoing support and leadership. Today, we must say "Thank You" to all the men of Third Baptist for being active in the life of our church all year and volunteering on every level to ensure that ministry impacts the lives of persons in our larger community. Your faith in God and your love for God's people is noteworthy. Thank you for all of your sacrifices. We salute our Senior Pastor for the vision to keep our men focused on prayer, studying God's word, and being together weekly. We all have grown because of this vision. Thank you pastor for divine leadership. We love you and praise God for your leadership in our lives. We are men of faith and charity. So beyond today we will be visible in the choir, ushers, leadership, Sunday school, prayer meetings, Men s Ministry and Andrew s Brothers (every Monday),and wherever our light can shine to the glory of God. With charity and faith, Pastor Joseph A. Fleming

Men s Day Co-chairs Men of Faith and Charity (2 Peter 1: 5-7) As our tenure as co-chairs comes to an end, Allen and I are excited about our roles in helping to plan the program for Men s Day week. We thank God for Pastor Joe B. Fleming and his vision for the upward movement of the men of Third Baptist Church. In addition, we thank Pastor Joseph A. Fleming and the Andrew s Brothers who have been instrumental in the development of our program for this year s celebration. Again, we thank God and the Andrew s Brothers whose continued growth is truly a blessing to Third Baptist Church. As the men continue to grow spiritually, we strive to live out our love for God in our homes, church, and in the larger community. We look forward to the support of the men of Third Baptist Church and pray that we will continue to grow as a result of this Men s Day experience. As we past the torch to two other capable co-chairs for next year, we pledge our support for future Men s Day activities. Continue to pray for us as we continue to pray for the men of our brotherhood here at Third Baptist. Thank you and God bless, Robert D. Williams &Allen Stancil, Co-chairs Men s Day 2011
