from the Pastor s Desk... My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I want to send out a special thank you to the Knights of Columbus for painting the gazebos here at the parish. Great job men! They look good as new! Speaking of the Knights, they will be doing the hosting of our Parish Picnic. Please keep the 28 th in your calendars for the picnic right after the 4 p.m. Mass. Bring a covered dish or dessert if you are able, but if you cannot, that s fine. Come anyway and enjoy some time with your fellow parishioners. Speaking of Calendars, please reserve August 5 th for Canon Weaver s First Solemn Mass here at 5 p.m. Following Mass you may receive his first Priestly Blessing and then enjoy a garden reception on the south lawn of the rectory. All are invited. May God s blessings be yours this week. Father Ireland OF PARTICULAR NOTE: We re beginning to spend some of the $$$ from The Main Event ~ La Dolce Vita. Next week, starting after the 12:10 p.m. Mass on Monday, July 16, work will begin on the interior of the Church building. Workmen will do a multi-stage refurbishing of the terrazzo flooring in the sanctuary; the hallways leading to the priests and servers sacristies; the area in front of the sanctuary, including the alcoves where the confessionals are located; and the vestibule area, including the alcove to the main doors. This part of the project is expected to be completed by Friday, July 20. Both the 6:45 a.m. & 12:10 p.m. Masses on Tuesday, July 17, and Wednesday, July 18, will be in the Chapel. Access to the Chapel will be via the doors closest to Green Road ONLY. We will resume the daily celebration of Masses in the main Church at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, July 19. The 6:45 a.m. Mass that day will be in the Chapel. Following the early Mass on Thursday, July 19, and through Friday, July 20, work will center on the floors in the vestibule and the alcove by the main doors. Simultaneously, you may see workmen doing repair and redecorating work in the Chapel, Mary s Room, and the walls and ceilings of the entrances. Please be watchful of workers and their equipment during this time. Entry doors at the Green Rd. entrances will be locked Thursday, July 19 and Friday, July 20. Adoration will be disbanded on Thursday and Friday. Marian Movement for Priests WILL NOT meet on Thursday, July 19. Continuing the Week of July 23 On Tuesday, July 24, repaving of the driveways and parking lots will begin. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, July 27. Work will be in 2 phases and entrances will be closed according to the following plan: PHASE 1: Main parking lot/area behind rectory/driveway between Church & Parish Office and out to Credit Union. Drieways in those areas off Green, Ardendale and Rushton/Dean will be CLOSED. Use parking lot behind Lyceum. Access to the Parish Office by car or foot will be challenging. We regret any inconvenience. PHASE 2: Parking lot behind Lyceum and driveway between Church & Lyceum to be paved and striped. Exit driveway between Church and the Lyceum will be CLOSED.
