Scott Ferguson Pianist/Organist Welcome Thank you for being here for worship this Sunday! Our mission at First Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are inspired by the words of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, who encouraged believers to do all the good you can, in all the ways you can. Our Church office is open Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Friday 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM 901 N. Kings Hwy 843-448-7164

Monthly Mission in Motion for February: Child Development Ministry (CDM) Donations help our wonderful teachers at CDM continue to provide quality Christian education and child care for the children. Please bring items you wish to donate to the church and place them in the receptacles located at each entrance to the sanctuary. Needs: Goldfish Crackers, Animal Crackers, Vanilla Wafers, Gerber Graduate Fruit Puffs, Baby Wipes, Moist Towelettes, Facial Tissues, Paper Towels, Construction paper, Crayons, Loose-leaf Notebook Paper, Washable Non-toxic Markers, Washable Finger Paints ALSO Helpful: Gift Cards for specific classroom needs from Wal-Mart, Sam s, Office Max IN REMEMBRANCE Ernestine Brown Campbell August 11, 1924 - February 18, 2017 I am the resurrection and the life; those that believe in me, even though they die, yet shall they live. 2016 Financial Books The 2016 Financial Books are closed. I would like to thank all those who gave faithfully throughout the year. We did not end as we had hoped, but better than some years past when we were forced to borrow from the line of credit to pay apportionments and do repairs to buildings and property. However, we celebrate having accomplished a great many things over the past three years in maintenance and toward needed repairs and still have no debt. You will see from the closing numbers we spent eighty thousand dollars more than received. There were a considerable number of roofs repaired, equipment upgraded, awnings and airconditioners replaced which is to be expected from an older physical plant and facilities. In 2016 this was exceptionally high, and 2017 begins with a needed roof repair on both the sanctuary and parsonage. Every year expenses rise - from the Child Development Ministry (the church underwrites its budget) to the general ministry and mission of our church both locally and denominationally. Please be in prayer for the level of your giving and let us make First United Methodist as strong economically as it is spiritually. Ron Andrews Chairperson Financial Team 2016 Financial Books Closing Total Giving $1,421,606.59 Total Expenses $1,502,687.31 Closed ($81,080.72) Bikes for the World We have been tasked by our Bishop to raise bikes and money for Bikes for the World. This organization recycles used bikes to help people in Central America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean Basin. The bikes will be used by health workers to reach patients, students to get to school and workers to get to work literally transforming their lives! Our district s collection date will be April 30 th at First UMC Myrtle Beach from 2 5 pm. Please start spreading the news and looking for bikes. If you have questions contact Jennifer Hupko at the church.
