We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Proclamation of Praise Creator God, the beauty and wonder of your creation surrounds us. The magnificent trees swaying in the wind and the songs of birds singing in the morning all reflect your glory. We praise your glorious name. Lord Jesus, we confess that we take your creation for granted. We have misused the resources you have provided and squandered the marvelous wonders of your creation. We have not been good stewards of your earth. Forgive us, Lord Jesus. Jesus, you are Lord of heaven and earth. Your promise of forgiveness gives us hope in the midst of our brokenness; your Spirit breathes life and peace into our destructive storms. Use us for your purposes. Inspire us, Lord Jesus, to care for your creation. Amen 3
Hymn Let All Things Now Living the ash grove 4 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you.
Prayer of the Day God of creation, You are the one in whom we, and all creatures, live and move and have our being. Touch our souls with your eternal generosity, that the whole world may radiate the fullness of your love. Amen Anthem 10:30 Faithful Over a Few Things Glenn Burleigh Young Adult Choir Lesson Genesis 1:26-31; 2:15 God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food. And it was so. God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it. WE INVITE CHILDREN TO DOCK AT THIS TIME Please make sure your child is wearing a nametag with name and grade level. ************* See FRONT OF INSERT for Pickup Locations ************** 5
Anthem Spirit Suite arr. Mark Hayes Combined Choirs In That Great Gittin Up Mornin Julie Conzemius, soloist Didn t My Lord Deliver Daniel Andy Haase, soloist Psalm 23 Read in unison The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long. Holy Gospel John 10:11-15 Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus said, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. The hired hand runs away because a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. Praise to you, O Christ. 6
Anthem Creation Sings Creation sings the Father s song; He calls the sun to wake the dawn And run the course of day Till evening falls in crimson rays. His fingerprints in flakes of snow, His breath upon this spinning globe, He charts the eagle s flight; Commands the newborn baby s cry. Getty and Townend; arr. Drennan Combined Choirs CHORUS Hallelujah! Let all creation stand and sing, Hallelujah! Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation s King. Creation gazed upon His face; The ageless One in time s embrace Unveiled the Father s plan Of reconciling God and man. A second Adam walked the earth, Whose blameless life would break the curse, Whose death would set us free To live with Him eternally. Creation longs for His return, When Christ shall reign upon the earth; The bitter wars that rage Are birth pains of a coming age. When He renews the land and sky, All heav n will sing and earth reply With one resplendent theme: The glories of our God and King! Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
