UNDERSTANDING FAVOUR
What is Favour? The favour of God is the grace of God that which causes things to happen in our lives that is needed to happen through the channel of faith. Think about it! God wants to give you special privileges or assistance to further His works through you. His favour will cause people to go out of their way to bless you.
Old Testament: It comes from the Hebrew word Chen. Grace, acceptance, goodwill, or desire. To bend (condescend) or stoop in kindness to an inferior. To be shown consideration. New Testament: It comes from the Greek word: "Charis." This is where we get our word for "Grace."
BUT FAVOUR-GRACE Different From SAVING-GRACE
Same root word CHARIS. Saving Grace = free for all that wants to receive it by faith Favour Grace =it is for those who have positioned or aligned themselves to His Will and Purposes of God

4. It Led Peter Little Effort To Attain A Great Achievement. John 21:4-6 (NLT) At dawn Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples couldn t see who he was. He called out, Fellows,[c] have you caught any fish? No, they replied. Then he said, Throw out your net on the righthand side of the boat, and you ll get some! So they did, and they couldn t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.
5. It Brought Joseph Kindness And Blessings From Others In Every Turbulent Situation. Genesis 37:4 (NKJV) When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him

4 WAYS TO GROW IN FAVOUR
1. By Having the Right Relationship with God Psalm 5:12 (NIV) "For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your FAVOR as with a shield."
Proverbs 11:27 (NKJV) He who earnestly seeks good finds favour, But trouble will come to him who seeks evil. Proverbs 12:2 (NKJV) A good man obtains favour from the Lord, But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.
2. By Obeying God s Commandment 1 Samuel 15:20-21, 26 (NKJV) 20 And Saul said to Samuel, But I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.
1 Samuel 15: 26 (NKJV) But Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.
3. By Practicing Humility 1 Peter 5:6 (NLT) So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honour. Isaiah 66:2 (NIV) Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?" declares the LORD. "These are the ones I look on with favour: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.

4. By Being Diligent in God s Work Ruth 2:7-10 7 And she said, Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves. So she came and has continued from morning until now, though she rested a little in the house. 8 Then Boaz said to Ruth, You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women 10 So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?
Proverbs 18:16 (NIV) A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
