God s community knowing and sharing the good news of Jesus

Trinity College Aims To foster in every student a desire to serve God and humanity; to develop a respect for truth and a lasting set of moral values and to acquire the greatest possible understanding of self and the worth of each individuals contribution to Society. To develop fully the spiritual, social, academic and physical potential of each student in a caring yet disciplined environment. To foster a co-operative relationship between all members of the College community students, staff and parents. To develop to the fullest extent possible, the mastery of basic academic skills and to foster creativity and overall excellence. To provide a curriculum which has a balanced use of Christian themes in all areas and to create and foster an environment for learning, in which the Christian year is followed and observed, and in which the life of the participating parishes provide a practical focus for that observance. To help each student appreciate the joy of living.

Day 1 We pray that across all divisions and differences God will unite Christian people in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, especially those associated with Trinity College. That we will have our hearts full of Jesus love for God, for each other and for all the broken people around us. Jesus said Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. John 17:11 Day 2 We pray that the school chaplains of Trinity College will be energized and enthused to speak Jesus good news at every opportunity. That they will speak it clearly using words and illustrations that touch deep inside all who listen. Jesus said The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. John 14:10 Day 3 We pray that God will remove any blocks that prevent anyone in the Trinity College community from seeing, hearing and understanding the good news of God s love for humanity. That nothing will prevent this good news from reaching every person s heart. Jesus said For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it. Matthew 13:17

Day 4 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will be protected from attacks of doubt, despair, temptation, anxiety, fear of failure or weariness. That we will rest in Jesus and enjoy the love and security of His presence at every moment. Jesus said Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. John 14:1 Day 5 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will know more and more truly all the promises of God and learn to rely on them daily. That the empty hollow promises on offer in the world will be clearly seen for what they are and wisely rejected across our whole school community. Jesus said It is written: People do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

Day 6 We pray that when the Trinity College community hears about God s message of forgiveness and new life, that we will love it, believe it, and receive His gift of true and satisfying life. That Jesus will become the greatest treasure of this community. Jesus said Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. John 7:36-38 Day 7 We pray that God will make provision for joyful, sincere celebration of Him through music across Trinity College. That in singing and worship this community will discover the deep satisfaction of wholeheartedly enjoying their Creator and His purpose in creating them. Jesus said If my followers kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers! Luke 19:40 Day 8 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will be full of God s Holy Spirit and His dynamic power to turn the hearts of people in love towards each other and towards God. That God will teach our hearts to humbly accept His wisdom and reconciling power. Jesus said The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free Luke 4:18

Day 9 We pray that people with key leadership positions in Trinity College will receive a unique understanding of the person of Jesus. That His majesty and authority and love will become increasingly precious to them, both personally and for the school community. Jesus said My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom it is not of this world I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true. John 18:36-37 Day 10 We pray that Trinity College will be founded and centred on the gospel the amazing grace of God to redeem undeserving people to Himself. That reconciliation between God and humanity will be of paramount importance in this community and overflow in lives of joyful sacrifice and service. Jesus said Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one s life for one s friends. John 15:12-13

Day 11 We pray that lifetimes of disappointment, hurt, anger, emptiness, searching, denial, striving, toil and even wealth and moral virtue at Trinity College will not stand as evidence against God s good news. May all these things instead lead people in humility to the cross of Jesus and there may we all receive His free gift of true life. Jesus said I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6 Day 12 We pray that the chaplains and Christian staff and families of Trinity College will have wisdom, grace and love when speaking and sharing their lives with people who don t share their faith. That there will be mutual respect and appreciation and that God will continue to open peoples hearts to the truth about Himself. The disciples said to each other, Didn t our hearts burn within us as Jesus talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us? Luke 24:32 Day 13 We pray that God will give the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College a deep longing and desire for Himself. That we will daily learn to walk with Jesus and find Him to be the source of nourishment and refreshment that will sustain us in joyful service. Jesus said Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. John 15:4

Day 14 We pray that God will unify the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College and work through each one s unique gifts and abilities to complement all the others. That no jealousy or bitterness will ever sit between any of us but only appreciation, respect and love. Jesus said Since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other s feet. John 15:4 Day 15 We pray that a keen awareness of our own shortcomings and our need to change will stir in the hearts of everyone living in the northern suburbs of Adelaide and especially the Trinity College community. That each person would deeply desire to be washed clean, transformed and restored to friendship with God forever. Jesus said It s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart. Mark 7:15

Day 16 We pray that God will raise up and equip Christian leaders for His church through the ministry of Trinity College. That Christian students and teachers will receive opportunities to recognize, develop and use their gifts and talents for God s glory and kingdom. Jesus said Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received! Matthew 10: 7-8 Day 17 We pray that Christian families, students and staff of Trinity College will be given strong love for Jesus and enthusiasm to talk about Him as our Saviour. That our hearts will sincerely desire for others to also receive the blessings that we enjoy. Make us living pictures of Jesus grace and truth. John wrote about Jesus So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father s one and only Son. John 1:14 Day 18 We pray that whole families will be transformed by the power of God at work in Trinity College. That God s grace will then flow out to transform the northern suburbs of Adelaide and even reach to places like Cambodia and beyond. That this school will become a lighthouse of hope, healing and refuge for people living in dark times. Jesus said You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8 Day 19 We pray that at Trinity College, God s Holy Spirit will illuminate the deadly nature of living with our hearts turned in rebellion against God. That a healthy holy fear of God will be part of our community life. That people will recognise that Jesus has suffered the awful penalties for our wrong choices so that we can receive his free gift of forgiveness. Isaiah prophesied about Jesus All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on Him the sins of us all. Isaiah 53:6 Day 20 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will be a living demonstration of Jesus His triumphant life in the face of death, His miraculous strength at the point of utter weakness, His victorious suffering and humiliation for the sake of love. Isaiah prophesied about Jesus He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.. I will give him the honours of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels. Isaiah 53:7,12

Day 21 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will have inexhaustible and fearless love for every person we encounter. That the love of God and the joy of being His children will be an offer irresistibly on display in our lives fresh and vibrant every day. Jesus said I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:11 Day 22 We pray that Trinity College will be a community saturated with a rich, deep, full understanding of God s grace his generous mercy and favour to undeserving people. That aspects of God s grace will be tangibly on display every day and people s eyes will be open to see it and believe it. Jesus said I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. John 14:12 Day 23 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will not harbor wrong in our lives especially pride, selfishness, unforgiveness, hatred, lying or meanness. That we will live humbly under the penetrating light of God, confessing and repenting of our shortcomings every day. Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:2-3

Day 24 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College in our marriages and friendships will live out a dynamic display of God s faithful promise keeping power, His full and unconditional forgiveness and His humble patience. For God s honour, let us faithfully honour every relationship. Jesus said You didn t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other. John 15:16-17 Day 25 We pray that God will generously pour out His gift of faith on the Trinity College community. That the Christian families, the staff and chaplains will pray continually and confidently for many gifts and blessings from God. That we will hear God speaking to us and quickly respond with faith and love. Jesus disciples said to Him Have mercy on us and help us, if you can. What do you mean, If I can? Jesus asked. Anything is possible if a person believes. The sick boy s father instantly cried out, I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief! Mark 10:23-34

Day 26 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will lead our own families in faithful worship and diligent devotion to God. That we will make wise and loving choices about daily life and enjoy the blessing of God s peace in our homes. Jesus said I am leaving you with a gift peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. John 14:27-28 Day 27 We pray that all members of Trinity College will enjoy deep refreshment in sharing time with other Christians. That we will be given precious friends and mentors to pray and chat things through with. That this mutual encouragement will be a source of great joy and a reason to celebrate God s love. Jesus said I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd. John 10:14,16 Day 28 We pray that through God s Holy Spirit, His kingdom of goodness, peace and joy will be lived out in the lives of the chaplains and Christian staff and families of Trinity College. That all friction and strife in our homes will be overcome by the power of Jesus cleansing blood His full and unconditional forgiveness. Jesus said This is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. Matthew 26:27

Day 29 We pray that the Christian parents, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will clearly teach the promises of God. That God Himself will remove anything that might prevent people, especially children, from trusting all His promises. That here in our community no one will be hindered from coming to Jesus to receive and fully enjoy all His blessings. He said to them, Let the children come to me. Don t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it. Mark 10:14-15 Day 30 We pray that all students and staff who come to receive communion in the chapel services at Trinity College will be given faith to understand what it really represents the broken body and spilled blood of Jesus. That we will experience Christ s personal nourishing and cleansing power in our lives each time we receive it. As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, Take this and eat it, for this is my body. And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood Matthew 26:26-28

Day 31 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will display wholehearted, joyful submission to Jesus authority over our lives. That our work practices, personal conduct and all interactions will stand in bold contrast to any negative trends and currents that sweep through our society. Jesus said Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16 Day 32 We pray that the Christian families, the staff and chaplains of Trinity College will be blessed with enjoyment and appreciation of all God s gifts to us. That our hearts will be filled with thankfulness for all these blessings and that this gratefulness will overflow in warmhearted generosity toward others. Jesus said Freely you have received; freely give. Matthew 10:8 Day 33 We pray that God will take Trinity College and every Church-based Australian school and make them His own holy home. That through these schools, God will keep bringing to fulfillment His promise to make true hope and healing available in every corner of this broken world. Jesus said Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. John 14:23

Day 34 We pray that Jesus offer of rest and refreshment will be taken up by all staff and students at Trinity College who find themselves exhausted by the stressful demands of our work. May we learn to treasure God s tranquility in our hearts even through the challenge of daily toil. Jesus said Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 Day 35 We pray that the chaplains of Trinity College and their families and the whole school community will grow to value God as our most precious treasure. That there will be nothing and no one that can steal away our wholehearted love and devotion to God. That the joy of being God s community will be the radiant heartbeat of our school. Jesus said And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. Mark 12:30

Day 36 We pray that God will free Australian school communities from the false doctrine of salvation through success. That God will expose and destroy the lies that measure people s value according to productivity and achievement. People are precious because we are made by God, in His image, and are loved and treasured by Him. Peter wrote in his letter For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him as your ransom long before the world began 1 Peter 1:18-20 Day 37 We pray that the weakest, most disabled people in the Trinity College community will become the source of greatest blessing. That their lives will present a clear, unrestricted opportunity for God s grace and power to be on display. God goes out of His way to choose these kinds of people because they show us most clearly how much we all need Him. As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. Rabbi, his disciples asked him, Why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents sins? It was not because of his sins or his parents sins, Jesus answered. This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. John 9:1-3

Day 38 We pray that God will increase the opportunities for Trinity College students, staff and families to spread His love and good news. That opportunities for meaningful service and connection with the wider community will present themselves and be taken up enthusiastically. Jesus told his disciples, Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. Matthew 16:15-16 Day 39 We pray that God will give wisdom to the Trinity College Council as they make decisions for the planning and direction of the College. That God will provide wise and skilled people to serve on the Council who are gifted in strategic thinking and action and who are committed to seeing God s kingdom grow. Jesus said If you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple. Don t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? Luke 14:28 Day 40 We pray that God will give wisdom and love to every member of Trinity College staff from the head of the College right through to every support staff member. That each of them will know how best to fulfil their role so as to serve all of the others. That each one will know the preciousness of their own life and of every other life they touch. Jesus said By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:35
