We sing praises to God for who he is and for what he has done SONGS OF PRAISE ALL I HAVE IS CHRIST I once was lost in darkest night, yet thought I knew the way. The sin that promised joy and life had led me to the grave. I had no hope that you would own a rebel to your will, And if you had not loved me first, I would refuse you still. But as I ran my hell-bound race, indifferent to the cost, You looked upon my helpless state and led me to the cross. And I beheld God s love displayed, you suffered in my place. You bore the wrath reserved for me now all I know is grace. Chorus: Hallelujah, all I have is Christ. Hallelujah, Jesus is my life. Hallelujah, all I have is Christ. Hallelujah, Jesus is my life. Now Lord, I would be yours alone and live so all might see The strength to follow your commands could never come from me. Oh Father use my ransomed life in any way you choose, And let my song forever be: my only boast is you. Chorus CCLI Song #5174122; Words & Music by J. Kauflin; 2009 Sovereign Grace Praise (BMI); CCLI License #152421 MY WORTH IS NOT IN WHAT I OWN My worth is not in what I own, not in the strength of flesh and bone; But in the costly wounds of love at the cross. My worth is not in skill or name, in win or lose, in pride or shame; But in the blood of Christ that flowed at the cross. Chorus: I rejoice in my Redeemer, greatest treasure, wellspring of my soul. I will trust in him, no other. My soul is satisfied in him alone. As summer flow rs we fade and die; fame, youth, and beauty hurry by; But life eternal calls to us at the cross. I will not boast in wealth, or might, or human wisdom s fleeting light; But I will boast in knowing Christ at the cross. Chorus Two wonders here that I confess: my worth and my unworthiness; My value fixed, my ransom paid at the cross. Chorus 2x My soul is satisfied in him alone. CCLI Song #7024758; Words & Music by G. We acknowledge our need of forgiveness and renewal through the cleansing blood of Jesus CONFESSION OF SIN Eternal and merciful Father, we come to you in need of forgiveness. In our sin and rebellion, we have pursued empty living in our own kingdoms rather than lavish living in yours. We have tried to cover our sin with the scent of earthly power, riches, and success. Forgive us, O Lord. Confront us with your grace so that we may be filled with your joy. Use our ransomed lives to be the aroma of Christ to a dying world. By the power of your Spirit, lead us in good works so that you may be glorified. We pray all this in the name of our Savior and King Jesus Christ. Amen. God reminds us of his promise of forgiveness in Christ ASSURANCE OF PARDON EZEKIEL 36:25-27 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 3

We ready our hearts to receive the preaching of God s word SONG OF PREPARATION HE WILL HOLD ME FAST When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast; When the tempter would prevail, he will hold me fast; I could never keep my hold through life s fearful path; For my love is often cold; he must hold me fast. Chorus: He will hold me fast, he will hold me fast; For my Savior loves me so, he will hold me fast. Those he saves are his delight, Christ will hold me fast; Precious in his holy sight, he will hold me fast; He ll not let my soul be lost; his promises shall last; Bought by him at such a cost, he will hold me fast. Chorus For my life he bled and died, Christ will hold me fast; Justice has been satisfied; he will hold me fast; Raised with him to endless life, he will hold me fast, Til our faith is turned to sight, when he comes at last. God speaks to us through the preaching of his word SERMON DIFFERENCE MAKER 1. It s a Wonderful Life We respond to God s word through song SONG OF SENDING IN CHRIST ALONE In Christ alone, my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save. Til on that cross as Jesus died the wrath of God was satisfied. For every sin on him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground his body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious Day, up from the grave he rose again! And as he stands in victory, sin s curse has lost its grip on me; For I am his and he is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the pow r of Christ in me; From life s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from his hand; Til he returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I ll stand. No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from his hand; Til he returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I ll stand. CCLI Song # 3350395; Words & Music by K. Getty & S.
