Sixth Avenue UMC Messenger January/February 2017 Dear Friends, Blessings in Jesus Pastor Rick

Dear Friends, Pastor Rick

Christian Love and Sympathy to: Rodney Neil in the passing of his grandfather Berkley Marion on February 7, 2016. Sharon Mathias in the passing of her brother Thank you for your generous gift of $2153.32 to Foundation Dinners for the year 2016. No compensation was given to you for your donation. We do appreciate your giving to us. Thank you for making it possible to help those in need. God bless you all for making this possible for the needy of our community. Gary Clum Agency Director Thank you for your generous gift of $196.26 to Foundation Dinners for the year 2016. No compensation was given to you for your donation. We do appreciate your giving to us. Thank you for making it possible to help those in need. Gary Clum Agency Director

6 th Ave. UMC, Thank you for the boxes you brought into the relay center. Each box is heading to the perfect child to receive the wonderful gifts your church packed in them. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and visit. Sincerely, Betty Smith Blessings, Operation Christmas Child We would like to thank you for the food and gift card. It was very much appreciated. From, Jane Guisinger Dear Pastor Rick and members of the Sixth Ave. United Methodist Church, Thank you for making my birthday, Sunday, October 23, 2016, a wonderful day by having my family from Columbus walking in the church. I didn t realize that this was going to happen to me. My, you people sure can keep a secret. It was really something when Pastor Rick s message went along with the occasion. It was nice to have Paul to stand beside me and presented me a lovely bouquet of flowers. It was kind of cute together - Mut & Jeff. Last but not least, the nice cup cakes Jackie and others made and those that cleared things away. God bless you all, Freda Downs Thank you for your kindness! Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ at Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, I wanted to take a minute to drop a note to say how much our ministry appreciated your generous gift of the basket with all wonderful meat and groceries. Also we appreciated so much the Kroger certificate. Our gals eat meals together as a family two or three times a week and the certificate will provide food for the meals they prepare. Again you have blessed us much, and we are very thankful. May the Lord bless you this Thanksgiving, and Christmas season. I would love to come sometime and share with your congregation the mission & vision of Grace Haven. Thank you again! Thank you for your generous gift to Foundation Dinners. We do appreciate your giving to us. We are supplying lunch and dinner every day of the year and now we are supplying for the Dinner program freshly prepared meals. We were previously using a lot of food from Fairfield Medical Center which we were warming up and serving. But because our Kitchen Directors have all volunteered to start preparing fresh meals for our Dinner program, we have decided to change our meals to freshly prepared meals for the Dinner program only. Fairfield Medical Center has so generously provided free food for us for over 20 years. The only draw backs with that is that it still cost us to operate a van and to pay an employee to pick up the food. The cost of purchasing food from Carnival Foods giving us a discount has not exceeded the cost of paying an employee and vehicle cost. Many people donate food to us also to help make up the cost of providing meals. If any one would like to purchase food items to help us provide freshly prepared meals, please call the Kitchen Director for a list of items we presently need. Our lunch program are meals that are left over many times from the Dinner program and is still great. We know that the health of our clients will be better, also they expressed their gratitude to having better meals. God bless you all for making this possible for the needy of our community. Dear Beloved of Christ, From Agency Director Gary Clum Janet and I were overwhelmed by the generosity of your Christmas gift to us! As in the past, I realize that for many of you it was a sacrifice. Indeed, it is a blessing and privilege to serve you! Janet and I cherish the love, prayers, and support of Sixth Avenue UMC. May all of your days in the New Year be filled with the peace and joy of Jesus Christ! Pastor Rick Dear Sixth Ave. UMC family, We, the staff, would like to thank each and every one of you that blessed us with gifts. We hope all of you have a very safe and happy New Year. Again thank you and God bless, Jodi, Jackie, Sue, David and Lee Ann God Bless, Jackie Hardman, executive director Grace Haven Ministries

Dear Friends in Mission: Thank you for partnering with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Through your gift, you are helping to provide humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own. Your gift of $115.00 was received on 11/07/16 for Disaster Response, United States, Advance #901670. Through The Advance, the designated giving channel of the United Methodist Church, 100 percent of your contribution will go to Supporting UMCOR s response to disasters in Untied States. Giving through The Advance enables United Methodists to support one another in mission and ministry around the world. Thank you for partnering with us to Be Hope to those who desperately need it. Grace and Peace, General Board of Global Ministries Dear Friends, Thank you for your continued support of Samaritan s Purse. Your gift of $445.00 for Operation Christmas Child will bless many children around the world. It s the Christmas season, and at this time of year I often hear people say they wish for peace in the world. I believe that true peace is only possible through God s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. As we minister to the needs of suffering people, particularly those impacted by war and violence, we tell them about the peace they can experience when Christ rules their hearts. Thank you for your partnership in sharing the Gospel. Please keep our ministry in your prayers as we seek through the tender mercy of our God,...to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:78-79, NKJV). May the Prince of Peace fill your heart with joy today and throughout the new year.
