November ZIHUATANEJO CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP NOVEMBER 2016 Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God -1 Cor. 10:31 Friends in our ministry, there is one thing I want to focus on, concerning an upcoming evangelical event that Mimi Aranda will be in charge of. She will be taking three young men from our Mexican Church plant to Leon, Mexico to be part of street evangelism in that large city. They will be working along side of three different churches. They need your prayers and if it is in your heart, I want to ask you to help with some of the costs they need for the week they will be traveling and sharing. They will be going by bus, sleeping in sleeping bags in a church. They will be taking care of their own meals etc... They have been raising their own money but still need three or four hundred dollars to complete their needs. God bless, John From Mimi: I was part of the mission team back in April 2015 in Guadalajara where I met Cristian and Elsa. Therefore, whenever a team is being put together, I am sent an invite. I jumped on it when I read the purpose of the mission: ~workshops on street evangelism geared toward youth ~Posadas, but showing the true meaning of Christmas ~Ministering to 3 Foursquare churches. ~Outreach!
Vicente, Alex and Luvi will get hands on training! Vicente will be part of the worship team (rapping of course). They will share their testimony and how Jesus is their Lord. True mission! We will be sleeping in the church (sleeping on the floor), meals will be served to us by the church where we stay. Two days at each church. Mostly out and about evangelizing! Here are some words from each of the team: This is my first mission and I am blessed to have been chosen to participate. It is a great opportunity to serve alongside others who are well trained and be able to learn from them. I am looking forward with great anticipation to serve my Lord this way. ~Alejandro Oregon Martinez I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve and learn new things to be able to help in ministry. I am very happy and deeply emotional for it is my first mission and I believe this experience will equip me better to first help me grow and be better use to my church family. I am very happy and excited because this is something I love to do! ~Jose Manuel Luviano Herrera I am joyful for this opportunity that we have to be part of this mission team to learn how to do street outreach to win souls for our Lord Jesus Christ. To be part of this mission will be a great blessing for us personally and a wonderful learning experience in our walk with Jesus. I want to thank God and all of those who put in their grain of sand in support for this mission to be accomplished. ~Vicente Mosso (Youth Leader)
Thanksgiving this year was shared on the Sunday before with our Mexican church plant led by Cristian Cruz. We chose Sunday as it was a better time for more of our Mexican brothers and sisters who could attend. And it was a day of Thanksgiving. Our English speaking team this time of the year prepared a full dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, salads, dressings and pumpkin pie. The only thing is we also served tortillas and pure Mexican salsa. It was a thankful time we could give and in return the Mexicans gave each gringo a beautiful note of thanks and love plus a bag of Mexican coffee. We were able to feed 40 plus Mexicans because of the blessings people give through John L. Sullivan Ministries in the United States and Canada. Mimi Aranda gave a good message of the background of the history of Thanksgiving and then asked each person to say something that they are thankful for. God was thanked and blessed. I want to thank again those who took part in cooking and serving and my Mexican wife Beti, who was a gringa for the night to help prepare. Gracias, mi amor. God bless, John and Beti
From Beti: When I start writing to tell you, brothers and sisters in Christ, the wonders our Lord is doing here, I imagine your faces and I rejoice in how great, large, loving, wonderful Christian family the Lord has given us! God bless you all! The Lord says in Isaiah 43:7 Everyone who is called by my name, whom I have created for my glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him. Yes, the Lord has given us life to glorify His Name I hope you remember I shared with you about a lady who had bone cancer. She passed away after receiving Jesus in her heart that was one year ago after her death, their son and two daughters asked me to keep visiting them and I did. I started sharing the Bible with them but they were not ready to receive the Word yet Guess what! Their children were! They were and are always so excited to study the Bible and invited the neighbors! The ladies told me this last week: The kids were invited to a birthday party but they said: We won t go. We have classes with Beti Our God is good! I have been teaching these kids for one year now! Thank you Jesus
I was in the United States with Pastor John few weeks ago when I received a phone call it was one of my Bible students mother She was devastated Her other daughter had had an accident, she was in very bad condition, she was unconscious for weeks the doctors did not give her any hope, they were asking them to donate some parts of her body but this mother had the hope in our Lord, our Savior, our Healer, our God who gives life! We prayed, prayed and our Lord Jesus answered when the doctors had given them the last day to disconnect the girl! She opened her eyes and started a new life, a new opportunity to know Jesus! I have been visiting her, she needs more operations in her head but she can talk and glorify our Lord she says: I know it is a miracle from God but she does not know Him yet Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you. Acts 17:23 In His love, Beti Sullivan Ministry at the garbage dump in Zihuatanejo Dear family and friends in faith, we hope you are doing well when you get this letter. We feel happy doing the work the Lord has called us to do because we have been witnesses of the change our God is doing in these kids, changes in all aspects: personal hygiene, behavior, manners, in their faith...we feel pleased with them, thank God. We are working together with the pastor John and Beti. We had a movie last friday. There were around 70 people and the response was great! When we started working there we had around 15 or 20 kids. Now we have around 50 kids!
We work hard with the kids from Monday through Friday and we share with families on Sunday. We know it is worth it to share the Good News in Jesus with people who make a living picking up garbage... We ask for your prayers so the Lord gives us wisdom to do the kind of work that pleases Him. We love you in Christ Jesus, Tony & Mayra Pineda Cristian has been involved with some great outreaches with his church and his youth programs... His computer is down so we will hear from him in our next newsletter! Check out our English Facebook page to keep up with us all month long!
