WORSHIP ARTS MINISTRY APPLICATION FORM

Dear Potential Worship Team Member, We re excited and honored that you are interested in joining our worship team. We are praying that God leads you in this endeavor, and that we can be working with one another soon. Let s do this! Here in the CCC Worship Ministry we believe that volunteers are a vital part of our church. They aren t just the future - they re a living, breathing, active part of Christ Community Church. We believe that with the right people, a lot of prayer, and the Holy Spirit leading the charge, the next generation of devoted, passionate and outward worshipers will be raised up and will have a great impact in our community and beyond for God s glory! We have a passion and desire to help show the world how much God loves them and to help them fall in love with God in that process. That s where you come in. You re the secret weapon in our ministry! Before you get all excited and start rallying the troops, calling the mayor of the city, or planning out your acceptance speech, we want to let you know a little bit about what you re getting into first: Being on the worship team is about serving and loving Christ FIRST, serving and leading the church in genuine and passionate worship SECOND and finally, it s about the music and doing it with excellence! I m sure we could all think of things we d rather be doing on a Sunday morning, or a Tuesday night - but God has called us to make His name famous and that takes time, effort, money, patience, practice, and self-sacrifice. We feel that Jesus was and is who we should model our lives after. Was He a leader? Absolutely! But more than anything else He served...so we serve. He said things like Whoever wants to be first must take the last place and be the servant of everyone else (Mark 9:35). He washed His disciples feet (John 13:1-17), He encouraged and served the lowly when no one else would, and He came not to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). In short, He was ALL about serving others, so we too strive to be about serving others. It s important that you realize being on the worship team isn t about spiritual brownie points. God lets us know that we ve all fallen short of the glory of God, and that we are accepted and loved freely by God s grace through Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23). We want you to serve to glorify God, not to earn points with Him. We believe that service to God is a lifestyle, meaning that all areas of your life reflect that you are a Christ-follower. We can t act one way at church and another at work or with our friends / family. We are looking for people who will be servants that love God, love People and desire that God use them to glorify Himself and build His Church. We are merely the tools...he is the builder! Please read the following pages carefully and pray before going any further. We take seriously you becoming a team member, and are excited and blessed that you ve taken an interest in serving God with the talents He gave you. We look forward to meeting with you. - The CCC Worship Arts Team

OUR VISION & PURPOSE To help our church WORSHIP God, GROW in community, CONNECT to and REACH others as the hands and feet of Christ. Every member, volunteer or intern should know that everything we do revolves around three core values: WORSHIP, GROW, CONNECT, REACH. From worship on weekends, to rehearsals, to events and training, all involve one or more of these. WORSHIP... - Everything starts here. Because of all God has done and continues to do for and in us we WORSHIP we PRAISE! He created us for this purpose and commands us to do it (Psalm 96). We are created to love Him (Deut. 6:5), and worship Him exclusively (Luke 4:8), through His Son Jesus Christ (John 14:6-7). GROW. - When we grow together in our faith, we take care of one another and amazing things happen (Acts 2:42-47). For God says that it is not good for us to be alone (Gen. 1:28), and that when we come together in Jesus name, we are blessed and He is with us (Matt 18:20). CONNECT. - We are called to love and serve others, as Jesus did for us (John 13:34-35). There are lots of people in need (Det. 15:11), and God wants us to serve them for His glory (Matt. 5:16). REACH. We are commanded to GO into the world, SHARE the gospel, and MAKE disciples simple as that! OUR STRUCTURE Adam Prough Worship Arts Pastor Cindyrae Stang.Choral Music Director Steve Haines..Audio Engineer / Head Audio Tech Tom Crawford..Orchestra Director EXPECTATIONS We all know God has standards. There are things He really wants us to do, and some that He doesn t. It s not just about following rules though - it s about being Holy, making wise decisions, and growing in relationship with Him and each other. The Basics: God enjoys a humble attitude. God gives people talents to use for Him, not for our own awesomeness. He does not need us to bring Him glory, but he graciously invites us to do so. Read your Bible often & grow in your faith. Although it sounds like the simplest and most duh -like of all of these, we have to make sure that we know our Bible well and are constantly learning from it. It s one of our main sources from which we learn to live and become like Jesus. Be aware of your own network. With social media, the ease of getting information, and embarrassing photos galore, we ask that you check and make sure all of your social media (like Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Tumblr, etc.) are Christ-like. Our congregation WILL look at them. Not everything is good for you. 1 Cor. 10:23 tells us that just because we can, doesn t mean we should. Avoid getting caught up in substance abuse, illegal, immoral or unethical activities, as they drive you away from God and hurt relationships.

Your body is a temple. 1 Cor. 6:20 says that God bought our bodies at a price, and that we should honor Him with them. Avoid sexual temptation, and flee the appearance of evil. The Bible has countless references to the power of the tongue. We can build up and destroy people, relationships and reputations with the words we say. With this in mind, watch what you say, who you say it to and refuse to engage in gossip. Remember; we are all still a work in progress! Practice, Practice, Practice! We rob God when we don t give him the best we can do- in all areas of life. The expectation is that you commit to playing only one time a month. However, depending on the needs of the church on a given weekend, you may be scheduled more often. Communication is key!! This means using Planning Center to confirm and communicate within 24 hours from the date you receive the invite and following through on the date you are scheduled to play. If you are unable to accept an invitation, give a reason please. If you know in advance use the blackout date function in Planning Center; if it s not blacked out we assume you are available!! Be in attendance and engaged in worship on weeks that you are not serving on stage (lead from the seats!!). TIME COMMITMENTS/EXPECTATIONS Attend the scheduled rehearsals for whichever venue or event to which you are committed. Be present by 7:30 Sunday morning when scheduled Scheduled rehearsals are for fine tuning and troubleshooting COME PREPARED! Practice time happens on your own before scheduled rehearsals! Consistently read your Bible, study and let the Holy Spirit transform you through it Be on the lookout for potential musicians/singers & encourage them to join RECRUIT!!!! Recognize that we are leaders on and off stage and set a good example with your lifestyle Pray for CCC, its leadership and the Worship Arts Ministry NOTE: Though we have different primary responsibilities we overlap into the other areas of worship arts ministry and function as one department. Based on the needs of the church and each venue, team members are asked to serve WHERE/HOW they are needed most at a given time. This is a team y all CATCH THE VISION!!
