CHRISTMAS SERVICES : You will find all the Christmas Services for both parishes listed below under the Forthcoming Services section TALYBONT LIVING NATIVITY : This takes place on Christmas Eve, Sunday 24 th December come along suitably dressed up if you like. The Nativity will begin at 5-00pm with a torchlight procession from Talybont Market to Talybont Farm in the centre of Talybont, where the special nativity service will take place in the barn. Those not comfortable with walking should go straight to Talybont Farm by 5-15pm and wait in the barn for the arrival of the procession. This Nativity night bestowed peace on the whole world; So let no one threaten; This is the night of the Most Gentle One Let no one be cruel; This is the night of the Humble One Let no one be proud. Now is the day of joy Let us not revenge; Now is the day of Good Will Let us not be mean. In this Day of Peace Let us not be conquered by anger. Today the Bountiful impoverished Himself for our sake; Today we receive a Gift for which we did not ask; This present Day casts open the heavenly doors to our prayers; Let us open our door to those who ask our forgiveness. Today the DIVINE BEING took upon Himself the seal of our humanity, In order for humanity to be decorated by the Seal of DIVINITY. St. Isaac of Syrian, 7 th Century MINISTRY AREA CHOIR : The Ministry Area Choir, which gets together from time to time under the leadership of Rev Richard Podger is planning to sing at the 10am Carol Service at Llanfeugan Church on Sunday 17 th December, and again at the 7pm Carol Service at Llangors Church on Thursday 21 st December. We would warmly welcome any new members who enjoy singing. If you are interested, please contact Richard, 622160 (podger38@gmail.com) who would love to hear from you.

I have decided to take up this challenge, organised nationally by the Church Urban Fund, and spend the night of December 8th in Llanhamlach church with a couple of friends. It is a welcoming place, and a sleep out there will be a good way to raise money for the homeless as part of the Advent Sleep out Challenge. Please help me help them. I can put you on my sponsor form, or you can donate at https://sleepoutchallenge2017.everydayhero.com/uk/elizabeth Thank you in advance for your generosity - it means a lot! Liz Bramley PARISH WEB PAGES : We are grateful to Mervyn Bramley for putting together the new Beacons Benefice Web Page. If you haven t had a look at it yet, then do visit it you ll find that it contains a great deal of information about all sorts of things. The easiest way of finding the site is simply to Google The Beacons Benefice and it should come up as the first entry. (Interestingly there is also a Beacon Benefice of six churches in the Diocese of Gloucester perhaps we should think about a twining scheme!) Meanwhile, now that I have access to the old Llyn Safaddan web-site, I m planning on updating this along the same lines as the Beacons site as they say, watch this space again, just Google Parish of Llyn Safaddan. Kelvin NEXT MINISTRY AREA JOINT SERVICE : Just a note to remind you that the next fifth Sunday of the month occurs on 31 st December, when there will be just the one Communion service for the whole Ministry Area, this time at Bwlch Church at 10-30am. LENT : It probably sounds as if Lent is a long way away when we haven t had Christmas yet! But Ash Wednesday is actually on 14 th February next year. Details of services are below. Hopefully we shall be holding the usual Lenten Soup Lunches in aid of Christian Aid in both parishes. Also perhaps we could be thinking of a specifically Lenten study to undertake? More details to follow
