Trinity Lutheran Church, Greencastle, PA Sunday Worship at 9:00 a.m. June 7 through September 13 Fellowship time follows the service Sunday School resumes on September 13 Parish News on Thursday August 6, 2015. Items new this week are marked with yellow Dear Friends, We continue our Gospel readings from John 6 this week on the theme of Jesus as The Bread of Life. This week the reading is John 6:35, 41-51. Whereas the conversation is last week s reading was between Jesus and the crowds, this week it is between Jesus and the religious leaders from Jerusalem. Those leaders know where Jesus came from and who his family is. They cannot believe he is bread which has come down from heaven. Our liturgy this week will be Service of the Word using our summer format with blended styles of music. As you may know, Trevor Timmons and Deborah Bell are being married this Saturday. Trevor will be away for two Sundays. We thank Matt Cessna for filling in for Trevor for this Sunday and the next. In the bulletin this week there will be a request for feedback about the type of service we may do in the fall at the early service. If you did not fill one out last week, you may do so this week. It will take less than a minute to do. If you or a couple people would be willing to provide snacks and cold drinks for Sunday morning fellowship time, please sign the sheet on the bulletin board in the vestibule. If you do provide snacks, please either refrain from items with peanut butter or nuts of be sure to mark the items. We have several members who have allergies to these foods. THE SPECIAL APPEAL FOR AUGUST is designated for Ronald McDonald House and Four Diamond Fund. Ronald McDonald House provides housing for family members visiting patients in the hospital. Four Diamond Fund, affiliated with the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, provides funds to cover expenses for children with cancer not paid by any other means. If you desire to make a monetary donation, please mark your envelope for Special Appeal or use the white envelope in the pew rack and mark it "Special Appeal".

THE WALL IN THE VESTIBULE has several crosses donated by members and friends of the congregation. We would like to fill the wall with crosses of all sizes and shapes. They can be new or used. We will arrange them on the wall. If you would like to donate a cross, please see Donna Wolfe or Laura Ellis if you have any questions. TRINITY S PRAISE BAND is looking for musicians to participate with the 11am contemporary service. Both musicians and vocalist are needed. If you are interested please contact Latasha Davis at 717-658-7942. USED BOOKS are now being collected for the Annual Used Book Sale. September 24, 25 and 26. This will be the 12th year Trinity has Partnered with Habitat for Humanity to sponsor a used book sale. Without the help of the 30-40 volunteers each year the book sale simply could not take place. A way in which you can help now is to spread the word with your co-workers, friends and neighbors that we are now collecting used books. There are fliers in the Narthex which provide information regarding the sale. If you have a public place (work, shop, market) that you could place a flier please do! A quick reminder; we cannot accept sets of encyclopedias, textbooks or books which smell of smoke or are musty. For more information please see Scott Valentine or Doug McCullough. REPORT FROM 2015 YOUTH GATHERING - The 7 youth who attended the 2015 Gathering in Detroit would like to share their experiences of this trip on Sunday, August 16 at 10:35 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Fellowship Hall. Light Refreshments will be served. Youth who are currently going into 7th - 10th grade are eligible to attend the next Gathering in Houston Texas. Coming to hear about Detroit would give our upcoming eligible youth/families an idea of what happens at the Gatherings and the wonderful opportunities to experience. We hope everyone will attend. See you on the 16th. HEALTH COUNCIL NEWS "Please join the Health Council for a monthly Fellowship Walk, on the last Saturday of each month, at 10am at Antrim Township Park.
