Before the service, speak to God; During the service, let God speak to you; After the service, speak with all. (*Congregation standing, if able.) PRELUDE Great God of Nations arr. Ron Boud GREETINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS * CALL TO WORSHIP (Based on II Corinthians 8:7-15) Leader: We do so well to trust God, to empower us to be articulate, insightful, and passionate. People: So let us do our best in what we can best do: Love God! Leader: For Christ became poor so that we might become rich in what is most important and vital. People: Let us help complete what God has started, a maturing of our faith and God s love in us! Leader: God provides what it takes for us to not grow stale; so let s get to it! People: May God strengthen and clarify our commitments as we live in the freedom God has entrusted to us all! * OPENING HYMN How Great Thou Art.No. 77 PRAYER (Unison): Precious Lord, empowering Savior, at times it is such a great challenge for us to experience the vast differences between us as your children. We seem, at times, to not have anything in common; we experience other people as a barrier to what is right, fair, and fulfilling. We become afraid of others who are different from us. Yet in your wisdom and creativity, you have made us different, diverse and blessed by it. May we grow to see this dynamic as one of the great blessings and treasures of life. Help us to have appreciation for each other, and see your authorship in the lives of the people we meet, as we understand how much we need one another. Thank you for blessing us with the life of Jesus Christ. We are so grateful that his heart can be so deeply woven into ours. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
