Say It MEMORY VERSE: Bottom Line: Mark 11:23, If anyone says to this mountain, Go throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. (NIV) One way to release your faith is by speaking God s Word. TO THE TEACHER: Releasing your faith involves: Saying God s Word Praying God s Word Acting on God s Word There are three ways to put your faith into action: 1. Believe in your heart and say it with your mouth. (Mark 11:23) 2. Pray the prayer of faith. (Mark 11:24) 3. Act on your faith like Blind Bartimaeus. Jesus said to Bartimaeus, Go, for your faith has healed you. (Mark 10:52) One way to release your faith is speaking God s Word. Mark 11:23 says that if we believe in our heart and say with our mouth, we can move mountains. The mountain represents problems in our life that seem impossible. We do not deny that there are mountains in our lives. We recognize that the mountain is there and we speak against it. Fight the good fight of faith. The Bible says that there is a fight of faith. It doesn t happen because you say it one time. Jesus told us that the enemy is going to try to steal our faith. He does this by putting thoughts of doubt in your head. Don t listen to his doubts. When you feel like doubting, say what you want to come to pass. This is what Jesus did. LESSON 9 PAGE 1
Hold fast to your confession. Hebrews 4:14 tells us to hold fast to our confession. This means that we need to keep speaking our faith until we see it happen. If you stop speaking, you are not holdng fast to your confession. LESSON 9 PAGE 2

Motion Comic: The Adventures of the Masked Hero Say It: Episode #9 TO THE TEACHER: The purpose of the Motion Comic is to give the kids something fun to look forward to each week and to introduce the lesson. TO THE KIDS: Wow! Johnny has quite the imagination! He turned a trash can into a garbage planet. Johnny couldn t breathe so he was not able to speak his faith against the giant ants. What did Johnny do? He tried to tap his faith out in Morse Code. Do you think it works to tap out your faith in Morse Code? I don t think so. Mark 11:23 says that we need to speak to the mountain. The mountain represents any problem in our life that seems impossible. For Johnny the mountain was the giant ants. Faith will not work if you keep your mouth closed. You have to say what you want to come to pass. Panel 1 Panel 2 Panel 3 Panel 4 LESSON 9 PAGE 4

Mighty Max: Mighty Mountain Moving Power Drama Script Continued Mini-Mountain. I ve seen people move plenty of mountains with this verse. How? Our words are like jars, and do you know what those jars are filled with? Grape jelly? Uh no. Oh! I know! Mayonnaise! No Faith. When we speak, especially when we speak what s in the Bible, those word-jars release our faith into situations and move them away. That doesn t help us move mountains. It helped your friend, Kimmy, move a mountain. Kimmy, the girl who runs on the track team? She s never moved a mountain! Did you know that she used to have really bad asthma? She couldn t run more than five yards before she ran out of breath. That s terrible. Don t you think that could have felt like a mountain to her? I guess. What happened to her? She runs all the time now. She has almost a thousand first place trophies for winning races! She spoke to her mountain. Every day she would tell the asthma that it had to go. And she spoke God s Word to it, and it moved. LESSON 9 PAGE 7
Mighty Max: Mighty Mountain Moving Power Drama Script Continued So you can move mountains in your life. Yes! Oh Side Kick, let s go research new super powers (SK and MM begin to exit) Don t forget the rock. IT S A MINI-MOUNTAIN! THE END LESSON 9 PAGE 8
object lesson The Machete of the Spirit SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: Mark 11:23, Hebrews 4:12 WHAT YOU LL LEARN: WHAT YOU NEED: PREPARATION: INSTRUCTIONS: When you speak God s Word it becomes the sword of the spirit. 1 balloon 1 large kitchen knife or machete (Army surplus store) Write fear on the balloon. Blow up balloon. The machete is the sword of the spirit, the balloon is what the enemy tries to get us to do - fear. Object Lesson Application: (Begin by holding up your Bible.) The Bible tells us that God s Word is like a sword. When does it become like a sword? It becomes like a sword when we speak it out of our mouth. (Hold up the machete.) Let s say that your Mom puts you to bed and closes the door. You hear a funny noise outside and then this thought pops into your head, Somebody is outside your window. The boogie man is trying to get you! Is there someone outside your window? No. It is just the enemy trying to make you afraid. (Hold up the balloon with the word fear on it.) Here is what most kids do at this point. They cry out loud, MOMMY! (Scream as loud as you can.) Your Mom comes running into your room and the fear goes Continued on next page LESSON 9 PAGE 9
The Machete of the Spirit Object Lesson Continued away, but when your Mom leaves the room the fear always creeps back in. It will keep coming back until you learn to chase it away yourself. So you may be thinking, How do I chase away the fear? You do that by pulling out your sword! (Hold up the machete.) When you say the Word of God out of your mouth it is powerful and becomes The Machete of the Spirit. Begin to speak scriptures, such as: Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. (Now take the machete and pop the balloon.) This is one way to put your faith into action. You can t just sit there. If you don t speak God s Word you will be afraid all night. You have to speak your faith to put it into action. LESSON 9 PAGE 10
Inter-active OBJECT lesson WHAT YOU LL LEARN: Hebrews 4:14 The War of Words WHAT YOU NEED: PREPARATION: INSTRUCTIONS: A tug-of-war rope Masking tape 8 Contestants Use the masking tape to mark a finish line for a game of tug-of-war. You will play with two teams. (When picking your contestants, match teams evenly.) You will play a game of tug-of-war. You want it to last as long as possible. Allow the kids in the audience to cheer their team. SPIRITUAL APPLICATION: Have one of the kids read Hebrews 4:14, Let us hold fast our confession. The Bible tells us to hold fast to our confession of faith. What does it mean to hold fast? It is kind of like the tug-of-war, only it is a war of words. In tug-of-war, if you want to win you have to hold fast to the rope and keep pulling. If you give up and let go of the rope then your team will lose. The same thing is true in the fight of faith. Only it s a war of words. You have to say what you want to happen. If you need healing you need to say what the Bible says about healing, By Jesus stripes, I am healed, and you need to keep saying it. If you stop speaking your faith it is like letting go of the rope. Don t let go of the rope. Speak your faith and keep speaking it. Hold fast to your confession until you win. LESSON 9 PAGE 11
