WRIGHTSBORO BAPTIST CHURCH 2736 Castle Hayne Rd Wilmington NC 28401 910.763.3181 SATURDAY FEBRUARY 17th 3pm till 5pm In the Family Life Center On Sunday, February 18th at 11am (no 8:30 Worship) the new Pastor will preach and then we will have a Called Conference to vote.

P A G E 2 We Need Each Other Let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works. Hebrews 10:24 It would be nice to be self-sufficient, but the fact is WE NEED EACH OTHER. This became very clear with the recent ice and snow storms. Work crews were needed to salt and keep the roads clear to drive on, electrical crews were essential for power to be restored and postal and delivery workers were important to make sure mail and packages arrived on time. God has gifted each of us as His children to work together as the family of God. We encourage one another when we gather for worship, Bible study, planning, training, prayer, missions, visitation, ministry, fellowship and of course eating and having fun together. As we gather and go out using our gifts we are inspired to become more like Christ. How good and pleasant it is when we as brothers and sisters recognize our need daily for God and for one another. Please continue to be in prayer for your Pastor Search Committee in seeking God s future Senior Pastor for Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Be Blessed and seek to Be A Blessing!!! Pastor Mike EARLY WALKERS Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays at 8:00am in the FLC If you are interested in joining the fun & walking to the beat of Christian Music...indoors, we are the group you want to join!

P A G E 3 From the Pastor Search Committee Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Proverbs 4:25 As we start a new calendar year, the Pastor Search Committee is pleased to report progress and promising news! On January 9, the Committee had the pleasure of meeting with a Pastor candidate. In an informal setting, we enjoyed dinner and interviewed with the Candidate and his Wife and had the opportunity to discuss his ministry, doctrinal beliefs and family life. We also shared the ministry, programs and other information about our church. Following the interview, the committee unanimously voted to present the candidate to the membership of WBC in view of a call as Senior Pastor. The Pastor and his Wife have graciously accepted the invitation to visit during the weekend of February 16-18. A casual floating reception will be held in the FLC on Saturday, February 17 from 3-5:00pm with a 3:30pm sharing time for the membership and the Pastor/Wife to get to know one another. Light refreshments will be served. On Sunday at the 11am (no 8:30 Worship) Worship Service, the Pastor will deliver a sermon to the congregation after which the membership will be called into conference. This is an exciting time and we continue to seek God s will and the leadership of the Holy Spirit for this sensitive process and for this Pastor candidate. God bless you as you continue to pray and to serve the Lord faithfully and remain in His work each day for His purpose. The Pastor Search Committee http://www.facebook.com/groups/34584332542/

P A G E 4 February is here! I can taste that squash casserole now. That s right, it s time for the annual Valentine Banquet! I am pleased to announce that we will have a local band, Artistry in Jazz, providing our entertainment this year. All the proceeds from the event will go to the Amanda Gore Scholarship Fund. Come out and have some great food and fun while supporting a great cause. I want to extend a special invitation to our widows and widowers to join us. We would love to bless you with a free ticket! Check the Bulletin and Newsbytes for further details. Blessings, Stuart Minister of Students Saturday, Feb. 24th @ 8:30am at WBC CAMPUS Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10am in the FLC.

P A G E 5 2018 Living Cross...The 29th Anniversary The time is here for our 29th year of the Living Cross! I know, it seems like we just celebrated Christmas and the New Year, starting the year off with several days of snow and ice! Even so, THE TIME IS HERE!!! Rehearsals have already begun for both the Living Cross Choir and Drama. If you are interested in either of these areas of service, please see me, Bland Chadwick or call the Church Office ASAP! Opportunities to serve in the Living Cross are available in many additional areas as well: Props, Child Care, Lighting, Sound, Make-up, Costumes, Greeters, Parking, Security, Snack Supper Preparation, Assembling and Constructing of the Cross and sets. Please pray about how YOU may be used by God in the Ministry. There is a place for everyone! Please also pray that God will bless this year s Living Cross as we seek to praise Him, worship Him and be a witness for Him in our community! Peggy

P A G E 6 Children s Ministry Thanks to everyone for all of the amazing support with the children s Lottie Moon Mission project. We were able to raise over $900! We are starting work on VBS Shipwrecked. We will be making flowers, leaves, vines and all sorts of things to create an island theme this year. If you enjoy making crafts, please see me. Also, we are taking the kids back to Camp Caraway this summer! We will be attending August 6th thru August 10th. And we are planning a Pancake Breakfast to help with scholarships.
